Cool info
I'm a big LOTR fan, so I thank you for the info. I just checked out Turbine's LOTR Online game. Looks pretty good, but the WMV file has a lot of background noise. Coincidentally, the maker of the new Penny Arcade Trading Card Game, Sabertooth Games, also makes a cool LOTR minis game.

Re:Working Titles...Had TFA bothered to link to the real press release, as Gabe did on PA's site, you'd've seen that there is new art of the Merch in Fleshreaper form. Very frightening. Too bad we got a link to a cut-and-paste of a press release, instead of anything interesting.
Here's the actual press release, if you'd like to see the art.

A link with some pictures...
Not terribly exciting, but the official press release is here:

Exact same text, but there's two illustrations from the cards. -
Re:Nice, Yet Another Useless CCGNow if this was a card game, instead of a collectable card game, maybe I'd buy it. But the fact that I'd need to buy Packs and packs and PACK of cards just to play doesn't excite me.
TFA states "The Penny Arcade battle box will contain everything players need to jump into the action right away." So if you're even remotely interested, why not give it a chance and pick up the starter kit? I don't play card games, but I play Sabertooth's Lord Of The Rings: Tradable Miniatures Game, and it's the best designed miniatures game I've ever played. I'm sure they'll do a bang-up job with the Penny Arcade game.

Re:Warhammer
For a less-expensive, Lord of the Rings based game, there's the Lord of the Rings Tradable Miniatures Game (LOTR:TMG) available from Sabertooth Games, a sister-company of GW. In addition to being less expensive, the rules are simpler, the gameplay quicker, and the figures are larger & already painted--but they can be repainted if that's your type of thing. The downside is the figures are plastic instead of pewter, so they are sometimes bent out of shape. It's a two player game, but you can run a couple of games side-by-side if you like.
