I have relenquished my Linux duties
I Have Relenquished My Linux Duties
Hey gang, Anal Cox here again.
I wanted to let everyone know that I am discontinuing my work on the Linux TCP/IP stack. After admitting to myself that it sux, I felt I was disservicing the community with my niggardly code.
I recommend using FreeBSD, NetBSD, OpenBSD, or even Darwin, which now compiles and runs under x86. The BSD family of OSes all have much better TCP/IP performance than Linux. Solaris is offered by Sun for cost of media for non-commercial uses, as is SCO's OpenServer and Compaq's Tru64 UNIX (formerly Digital Unix, descended from OSF). I'm not sure if these other Unices (Unixes? Unixen?) have better networking performance than Linux, but it'd be hard to imagine that they don't, e.g., I had nothing to do with creating them.
As much as it pains me to say this, Windows NT 4.0 and Windows 2000 (aka Windows NT 5.0) are great network OSes, with a built-in GUI no less. And as bad as the GUI is in WinNT4 and Win2K, it's a Hell of a lot better than the crusty, poorly-written crap like GNOME and KDE and the window managers avaiable for them.
In fact, the HURD is the only solution worse than Linux at this point. The only reason I am that lucky is because RMS is involved with it.
I have to go now, as heavy as my heart is, as it's time for my monthly bath. I hope no one is uber-upset by this news; they shouldn't be, as this is a step forward for Linux. Perhaps without my substandard, slavish attempts at being L33T and defecating code, the kernel and its networking performance will benefit from a real programmer and not a DGH (Dirty GNU Hippy) like me...
Thank you,
Anal Cox

I Have Relenquished My Linux Duties
Hey gang, Alan Cox here again.
Solaris is offered by Sun for cost of media for non-commercial uses, as is SCO's OpenServer and Compaq's Tru64 UNIX (formerly As much as it pains me to say this, Windows NT 4.0 and Windows 2000 (aka Windows NT 5.0) are great network OSes, with a built-in GUI no less. And as bad as the GUI is in WinNT4 and Win2K, it's a Hell of a lot better than the crusty, poorly-written crap like GNOME and KDE and the window managers avaiable for them.
In fact, I think even the HURD is a better solution than Linux at this point. Even though it's only released at version
.002++d11, its networking scheme blasts Linux's out of the toilet...I have to go now, as heavy as my heart is, as it's time for my monthly bath.
Thank you.

Hi. I'm Linus Trovalds, creator of the Open Source OS Linux. I'm glad CmdrTaco and company have created a forum for Open Source news and views, and I am so thankful for being able to post in the SlashDot forums. But now I must get something off my chest.
As you all know, I am a fairly clean cut, well-kempt person (I know, I have a beer gut only ESR could dare to challenge, but you'll have that if you spend 18 hours a day coding and eating Cheezie Doodlez...), and in the GNU community that is an anomoly: virtually all users of GNU software and the GPL, under which my Linux kernel falls under, are unkempt, long-haired, beast-bearded dirty GNU hippies, and I am sick and tired of having to deal with them.
The person I have the greatest problem with is the (in)famous communist, RMS. Now, RMS may have been responsible for GNU, the GPL, GCC, and many other contributions to the computing community, but his stance, as well as stench, displayed in his essays and actions, nauseates me. I mean, with that filth-ridden beard of his, where does he have room to demand Linux distros demarkate the OS as GNU / Linux? When he is as clean-shaven as I, he may have the right. Until then, as he sits and plays his little flutes and drops acid like there is no tomorrow, he can shut his mouth and go back to reading Marx. I am sorry to sound so harsh, but a little hygeine every once in a while is a Good Thing(TM). Makes me wish I'd went with the BSD license back in the day.
Next in line of dirty scuzballs I have to deal with, and probably the worst thorn in my side, is Allan Cox, the primary coder of my kernel's TCP/IP stack (ha, what a joke!) and all around dirty GNU hippy. The man's wife, who I spent a few years with at the University of Helsinki, often calls me crying in the middle of the night to complain of the rank, unbearable stench the man exudes after sex. On several occasions I have personally had to withstand his torrent of rotten odor at trade shows, exhibitions, and beer bashes that permeates every inch of his toxic person. Along with the typical GNU hygeine (mis)habits he practices, he also bitches and whines about... well, everything. He lies a lot too; evidence for this can be seen in the fact he almost always wears cheap black sunglasses when talking to people he knows are better than him (such as myself).
And then we come to ESR. I won't reiterate the sewerdweller-like cleansing habits he practices as well, but I would like to focus on his general lifestyle. Firstly, he's never been to school. As a German expatriate, education should have been his priority; however, becoming a Gas Baron was his ambition in life until he realized he would fail at it. I wish he'd make that realization with the other things he tries to do. Secondly, the man is a sub-intelligent hillbilly. You know, the kind that goes to inner-city computer stores and buys 386s to set up as servers all over his house, with cigarette smoke-stained 14" monitors piled high upon his kitchen table. He has no cooth and can't integrate himself into any social situation involving "white collar" executives without rambling into a tirade on gun rights or tanning roadkill. Couple the above facts with his ruddy complection (from drinking Jagermeister like it's water) and his gnat-ridden handlebar mustache and you've got the makings of one more person who pisses me off.
Well, that's it for now. Hopefully with these feelings off my chest and into the Open Source community, things will change for the better. I'd like just once to talk to a Linux user or advocate who washes and changes their clothes at least weekly. Until then, thanks to CmdrTaco, SlashDot, and you, the reader, for the opportunity to bring things to the table and share for the betterment of our community.
Thank you.

Thank you.

Re:Why is this relevant? (duh)
I tell you why this is relevent. After moving into my luxorious ant and minority infested apartment in downtown Indianapolis, I decided to try and get DsL, but to no avail. I guess they don't offer a fast connection to us "members of the darker race" till the white suburbian fucks get it first. A way to keep a race unenlightened and ignorant? Cultural genocide? This leads to my major point. As you might know me from TRoLLaXoR's wonderful stories, I am good ol' ERRoR 808. Although, what you might not know about me is that I am a virgin. You see TRoLLaXoR's stories usually deal with gratuiutous gay sex. But they are just stories, and I have been saving myself for that special someone. But alas!! I have given up that dream. I am now auctioning off my virginity on ebay. That's right, you can have my clean, shaven, and pure body. HERE is the link! Now, we gotta set some ground rules first, buddies. Most importantly, NO dirty kikes or hairy deigos are allowed to vote. Hell, even if you're clean and shaved you still can't vote. But don't get me wrong here. I'm not a racist, because I ENCOURAGE niggers to bid. I'll even give them a $50 credit. It's all about the affirmative action, kids! There's one thing I haven't told you. Well, I don't know what most people consider being a virgin is, but I consider it not ever having sex WILLINGLY. I feel this way because when I was a small boy, my favorite nun raped me with a strap-on. It might have been wet, messy, satisfying, and gratuitous but by no means was it consciously willing. OK folks, I gotta go, but remember to act fast! There's no telling when ebay might shut this gem down. If they do you can still contact me and we'll do business.

Re:TRoLLaXoR's Tips for Trolling, Tip #69: Trick L
I didn't take this name, boy, I earned it. I am the one and only ERRoR 808. To help you see the TRoLLaXoR/ERRoR 808 conection, here's a link to set you on your way.

Allow Me to Introduce Myself...
Hi. I'm Allan Cox, Open Source advocate, Linux advocate, and primary coder for Linux's TCP/IP stack. I hope I'm welcome in the SlashDot forums, as til this point, I've been a totally arrogant, antisocial bastard to the community which barely pays for my lifestyle.
In regards to the TCP/IP stack in Linux and my arrogant attitude, I must apologize: as you all already knew, and I just recently admitted to myself, FreeBSD's TCP/IP stack is far superior to Linux's, and to top it off, Microsoft has proven many a time that even the TCP/IP code found in Windows NT functions better than the drivel I have generated myself. Boy, what a humbler that is! It was like RMS and ESR yelling at me on my own front porch (well it's not really my front porch, it's the landlady's, in front of my one-bed, half-bathroom hovel, but you get the point)!
I'd also like to say, in regards to those who read and post in SlashDot's forums... I am sure I will be seeing Allan Cox. [note the period], Alien Cox, Allan Cocks, Allan Coox, and the like. Please, please, please, for those of you who take SlashDot posting seriously (as I do now, amen!) do not let these crank posters (heretofore to be called "trolls") ruin CmdrTaco's bountiful SlashDot experience! "Trolls" take some delight in confusing the populace and causing disparity in the community. Take the time to learn the real from the fake, as I have (re: how I admitted to myself my TCP/IP stack for Linux actually sucks)!
Thank you
