Richard Dawkins was pilloried for making basically the same point.

Re:What a coincidence...
That sounds entirely reasonable.
BRB.
It's reasonable for gawker, and threat'sand doxing are okay with feminists too. Along with getting people fired because reasons.

Re:What it means:
Find even one post of mine that has insults in it
:-) I dare you.Again with the reading and comprehension problems.
Anyway on to your other point. I can point at all sorts of examples of sexism all over the place. This is not hard.
Here's some more examples full of citations:
http://skepchick.org/2013/02/p...
Still not CS. Personally, I don't beliee CS is special and somehow immune from basic human bigorty. You also have no evidence of its specialness, and claiming specialness as you do is not some null hypothesis that you get for free.
And then there's all the personal anecdotes one hears from actual people in the field. There's the stuff I've personally witnessed at CS conferences directed at women that I've never seen directed at men.
There's also the fact that women are more likely to be victims of sexism than men simply by virtue of there being fewer of them.
http://iangent.blogspot.com/20...
So, it adds up. The last one for me is particularly convincing because it doesn't require any conspiracy, nor does it require men to be systematically more bigoted than women. All it requires is the existence of sexism in either direction and a difference in numbers.
So there you go. If you think CS is immune from the effect of maths and immune from basic human bigotry, then go ahead and think that. But be aware you're making a very strong assumption with no evidence at all.

Re:That is not doxing
There's a reason doxxing is mainly associated with 4chan, 8chan and other pedophile websites.
Jezebel writer doxxes autistic kid.
Rebecca Watson promotes Doxxing.
Reddits ShitRedditSays subreddit digging up names of gamergaters.
A tumblr related website all about doxxing
Something about throwing stones in glass houses springs to mind here. -
Re:It's all tied together
False. Counter Examples: Rush Limbaugh, Ultra Orthodox Men, Russian Official, and so on.

Re:Nothing of note
I am so sorry I just spent my last mod point so I can't mod you troll. Instead, I'll link to a blog post which explains why that is such a horrible thing to say, so you can stop pretending that you didn't know you were being offensive.

Maybe it's aggressively anti-woman geek culture?
Take these little gems as evidence of a real, vicious problem in geek culture:
"It’s by far the worst coding-related experience I ever went through. That made me retire from Open Source." http://www.zdnet.com/blog/violetblue/when-software-offends-the-pantyshot-package-controversy/509
“I was trying not to, but it needed to be said.” http://skepchick.org/2011/12/reddit-makes-me-hate-atheists/

Re:Is that how that works?
So if the priest confessed of his sin the church gives him a clean bill of health and let's them go on.
Fuck the motherfucker, and fuck you, motherfucker,
If you think that motherfucker is sacred.
If you cover for another motherfucker who's a kiddie fucker
Fuck you, you're no better than the motherfucking rapist
And if you don't like the swearing that this motherfucker forced from me
And reckon that it shows moral or intellectual paucity
Then fuck you motherfucker, this is language one employs
When one is fucking cross about fuckers fucking boysNot because of a plot but because they believe if you confess your sins god will forgive you of those sins, and the policy that the priest who does the confession will not tell anyone else, no matter what.
I don't give a fuck if calling the Pope a motherfucker
Means you unthinkingly brand me an unthinking apostate
This has nowt to do with other fucking godly motherfuckers
I'm not interested right now in fucking scriptural debate
There are other fucking songs and there are other fucking ways
I'll be a religious apologist on other fucking days
But the fact remains, if you protect a single kiddie fucker
Then Pope or prince or plumber, you're a fucking motherfuckerNow you can argue this doctrine, however it isn't part of a coverup it is just following their beliefs.
But if you find me more offensive than the fucking possibility
That the Pope protected priests when they were getting fucking fiddly
Then listen to me, motherfucker, this here is a fact:
You are just as morally misguided as that motherfucking
Power-hungry, self-aggrandized bigot in the stupid fucking hat.(You should probably listen to the whole thing, because I only quoted the more polite bits from Tim Minchin's Pope Song.)

Re:why modded down.
Did you pay attention to your own search results? Half of them discredit the study, and I don't even see additional studies in them. I did however find a very nice debunking article in a chain of links off your weak Google-fu: http://skepchick.org/2011/05/bees-ccd-and-cellphones-still-no-link/

Re:Do we need a "DRAW Bhumibol Adulyadej" day?
In the context, I suspect he'd mean draw nasty caricatures. But if you prefer we can just go say fuck Bhumibol Adulyadej. Fuck Bhumibol that fucker. Fuck him for now having his people change the laws. He might look all magnanimous occasionally pardoning someone for insulting him after they've done time or suffered long court cases but that just indicates how much of a problem there is. If he were really serious and couldn't get the law changed he'd just preemptively pardon everyone every single day. So fuck Bhumibol. Fuck his monarchy. Your royal highness Bhumibol Adulyadej, go fuck yourself and your censorship.
I can think of a few things that rhyme with Bhumibol, but I'm damned if I can come up with anything good for Adulyadej. Paging Tim Minchin, Tim Minchin to the yellow courtesy phone! We need an updated version of The Pope Song, STAT!

Buy a ShamWOW! to fight Scientology. And my research (I.E. a quick google search and watching a couple product tests on the internet) shows that it works pretty well.

A Simple Explanation of the Monty Hall ProblemIt's funny, this problem was just being discussed on the SGU forums. It happened to be given as a puzzle on a recent SGU podcast, before the NYT story was run.
Anyway, here is the simple explanation that I've found helps people realize their error in thinking: The problem is a lot easier if you think about it in an "outcome" based fashion.
In other words, what are the three possible outcomes given that the person always switches their door?
[car] [goat] [goat]
Choose door 1. Host reveals door 3. Switch to door 2. NO CAR.
Choose door 2. Host reveals door 3. Switch to door 1. CAR.
Choose door 3. Host reveals door 2. Switch to door 1. CAR.
What are the three results? NO CAR, CAR, and CAR. In other words, always switching your answer results in a 2/3 chance of getting a car.
If we repeat this process but we never switch our door, you get:
Choose door 1. Host reveals door 3. No switch. CAR.
Choose door 2. Host reveals door 3. No switch. NO CAR.
Choose door 3. Host reveals door 2. No switch. NO CAR.
Now we only have a 1 in 3 chance of getting the car. -
Let's observe a moment...
As suggested by the Skepchicks, let's all observe a moment of science in his honor.
Go out and do an experiment, and if you can, do it for some kids. -

I'd nominate
The gorgeous Anousheh Ansari, the first female space tourist, Skepchick Rebecca Watson, and Mae Jemison. I'm sure I could think of many others.
