Common in Mexico
I just spent a couple of months in Mexico. While I was there I had tried several types of insect dishes. They were delicious, especially the Escamole. While they are not really part of the daily diet, they are not uncommon either. In fact, it's kind of trendy now.

Re:multitasking
There are better articles I've since read. Try one on nydailynews.com or collisionguard.com or drivers.com or slashfood.com or boston.com.
Not all of them make the same case, in fact I'm more inclined to believe now that phone usage is the more dangerous, but come on, if you're gonna criticize the source, maybe find one of the dozens of better ones a google search away!

Late to the party
Yawn.. here in Orange County, we've been doing this for over 3 years, because we're getting tired of people from up north bitching about us stealing their water. The plant they constructed near my house pumps out 80 mllion gallons of reclaimed water per day. Anybody who claims they can tell it used to be wastewater is insane.

Perhaps you were looking for:
http://www.slashfood.com/ ...which is an actual website about food, but not affiliated with Slashdot, AFAIK. -
Re:Perfect temperature
Not coincidentally, you're also not going to the kind of restaurant where people would consider taking a picture of the food.
Oh really? There are plenty of places on this wild world web that revel in taking photos of bad food from shitty restaurants or discussing bad food photography.

There is something very cool about having tailored advertisements. Google's found a way to make it work, and in the AFK world there is evidence of commercial tailoring for sporting events like the SuperBowl. People who watch the SB for the ads (like reading Playboy for the nudes, I suppose) typically enjoy funny and unique commercials. So while it may be many times more expensive to produce and show a commercial during the SB, it is also much more profitable since the viewers are already suggestionable.

Re:pish posh
Ironically, the answer is at a site called Slashfood.
I just found it, it's like Slashdot for culinary geeks; worth a bookmark. -

Re:kimchi... Natto in Space on Soyuz Mission...

"While NASA was content with the chicken and the egg, the Soviets chose natto for their research. In 1987, Alexander Serebrov, the Soviet Union's most experienced cosmonaut, took dried natto with him on a Soyuz mission. There he found that natto's 80-90% rate of soybean protein absorption made it an ideal candidate for future travel in space."
Also, see Slashfood (no, sorry slashers, it's not related to Slashodot... FORTUNATELY...):

Hot Grits: The Official StampA legitimate reason to lick Princess Leia If you're interested in pursuing this thoroughly unsavory (and pleasant) line of thought, China has already released stamps that not only smell like sweet-and-sour pork on the front, but actually *taste* like it on the back.
Since this is Slashdot, and we're discussing Star Wars, I think the USPS should do one of those with Natalie Portman, naked and... actually, naked is enough. And since they'd need to know what Natalie Portman (*cough*) tastes like, I'm willing to volunteer my services. -
But how does it
taste fried ?
