Tron comic
I saw Tron as a kid and I still like it today (though not as much, but still do)... A new Tron comic is set to come out this spring... And as another poster mentioned, I really loved Reboot...

Re:I don't think they fit
Find one of the old Blue and White G3 or Graphite/Quicksilver/MDD G4 towers. Those things are tough. I could definitely stand or walk on one. I've read of two situations in which those machines survived building fires, and one was thrown across a room in a car crash (the one on the floor.)
I can't speak for the G5 towers, and the various iMacs generally aren't exceptionally durable. The eMac is at least tough enough for middle schools. As for Apple's laptops, they're not ruggedized by any stretch of the imagination, but seem to fail from natural causes far more often than accidents. -
Re:Unnecessary data!Just a nitpick.
The US did not sell the machines to germany.
IBM sold the machines to germany. Large corporations don't give a damn about which country is doing what to whom. It's all about the money.
Same thing happened with "Standard Oil"
Germany for all its science could never figure out the process of making vulcanized rubber. Their planes suffered, their tanks suffered in cold weather, etc. So in the midst of WWII, Std Oil went over to Germany and teamed up with a German firm to build a factory to produce an even better synthetic rubber for the third reich. As an added bonus, this plant used slave labor from Auschwitz.
Anyways, After WWII, Std Oil was brought up on charges of treason. Their defense was "We owe no alegiance to any nation", or at least words to that effect. This defense worked. A company is not a citizen.
The branch of Std Oil that was responsible for the German rubber plant eventually became Exxon.

Re:I'll go ahead and say it...Sandman?
Gaiman is great, but being a giant in the field, he really don't need the extra press... here are some guys in the trenches who do:
*Pablo's Inferno by Rhode Montejo
*Emily and the Intergalactic Lemonade Stand by Ian and Ty Smith
*Sonambulo by Rafael Navarro
*Babyhead by Chris Jordan
And there are a ton more... something for everyone! -

Re:Independence
i think this is clearly a marketing tie-in.
of course i plan on going to slave labor to get my free comic. -
If you like Zim...
Most die-hard Zim fans probably know this, but if you're a fan of a show but not familiar with Jhonen Vasque's other work, you owe it to yourself to get ahold of a copy of Squee and Johnny the Homicidal Maniac. The first is the more accessable and Zim-like; the second is Jhonen's quintisential work, but it is much darker and more philosophical. All his work is available from Slave Labor Graphics. (Avoid Fillerbunny and especially the Bad Art Collection; these are for die-hard fans only.)

Re:And Here's a Picture
And HERE is a picture of the real reason why penguins can survive attacks by skuas, sea lions, and even terrorists. Sorry I couldn't find a better picture from the original series, but it's been out of print since the mid-80s.
