Re:What about Utah?
Feel free to check the number of starbucks per state against population densities of different states. Utah has far fewer starbucks than other states with approximately equivalent or far lower population densities. I only chose Philadelphia because I live there, not to make an unfair comparison.

Re:What about Utah?
There are more Starbucks in Philadelphia than all of Utah. I think that is pretty telling.
Now don't get me wrong, I don't actually go to starbucks, but the absense of starbucks somewhere is still a pretty strong indicator of primitisim to me.

Obsession with PI
It's one of those things that not-so-smart people do because it seems like something that smart people would do. Reading digits of PI for 24 hours? What a waste of time. Why not spend that time trying to understand some of the math involved rather than reading seamingly random digits in front of a video camera? Obsession with the digits of PI is about as intelligent as visiting every Starbucks in the world or whatever. The trappings of intelligence, but not the substance of it.

Re:Finally!!!
Now I'll be able to find the nearest starbucks no matter where I am.
Beats the method of calling my friends every half an hour when i'm on a trip and trying to describe the surrounding cities/streets/lamp posts in hope for some guidance to a hot cup of coffee.
You should be going here. The guy's visited 4535 so far, or about 90% of the corporate Starbucks in the country. And others, abroad. If you haven't got a wireless setup for your travel, yet, you can visit the states beforehand and print/save pictures of the stores. -
Re:Higher resolution image?
;with the exception of "non-freestanding" starbucks (such as those run by marriott), the answer to your question is yes, they should all carry nytimes. to be sure, you might want to ask this guy.
;and it's not *what* you drink that makes you pretentious, it's *how* you drink it.

Boring...
Wonder how boring the 6-9 month travel would be? Though new rocket technology could make it less so and more achievable. But we'd have to take this guy so he can visit the Mars Starbucks...

Re:I wonder if...
Maybe they should ask the guy who's visiting each Starbucks in the country before leaving?

No less than 3 starbucks at Somerset mall
in upscale Troy, Michigan (my home state). I've been there dozens of times and never really even noticed that one fairly normal sized shopping mall needed 3 of these things, amazing. Reminds me of this Simpsons quote:
"You better hurry up tho, kid, in a few moments this place is becoming a StarBucks." -
End of the Universe
Arch-ranter Lewis Black has a funny bit about finding a "Starbucks across from a Starbucks" and he declares that to be the end of the universe. They're in Houston, Texas. Also shown in a composite photograph on another website.
