Re:Eureka Moments Do Happen...Would you like to buy one of my patented tinfoil nightcaps? Nah, I'll stick with velostat headgear for now - it appears to still be working, since I haven't been abducted by grey people while wearing it. (:

Tin foil hats for all!
Nothing beats a nice faraday cage hat for keeping nasty EM waves from toasting your brain. Maybe the school could offer free tin foil hats to each student This guy has nice instructions for building your own. Just slap the school logo on the front and, hell, why not a propeller on the top.

Abandoning research?
After so many years of research in the field of tin foil hats, why are they going for duct tape?
Where's the leather?
Where's the Velostat TM? -

This is old news....

These guys have know since 1998 that tinfoil does not stop telepathy.
I thought those Harvard folk were supposed to be bleeding edge...I'm goin to Stanford! -
Re:They are behind this
No no no... aluminium is NOT the right material, just ask this guy : click. The right material is clearly 3M's "Velostat".
-
They already have an upgrade for the tinfoil hat! It's called a "Thought Screen" made from Velostat (you know, the anti-static stuff computer parts are shipped in).
-
Re:The Martian auroras differ...
Actually, Martians prefer to beam messages directly into our brains or abduct us to tell us personally, which is why I use a thought screen. http://www.stopabductions.com/

Re:Yes, but..
I have stopped having experiences with aliens ever since I started using protection!

The OFFICIAL tinfoil hat site
Come one, come all, see this site and admire the stylish and attractive choices.
Seriously, this guy worked for a real good friend of mine for a while, and he is real serious about this stuff.
Yow... -
That's what they want you to do!
Tin foil is what they want! Try this instead!

Re:Tinfoil hat
Faker!
Its thoughts like this that allowed the computer manufacturers to secretly change the cores of microprocessors to copper. Now they can control your mind over the internet!
Copper does nothing to pschotronic radiation! You can protect your computer with MindGuard (only works if you still have an aluminum CPU), and yourself with lead or aluminum shielding (The website linked is about alien abductions. They're a little kooky, but the technology works well against psychotronic radiation). Since lead is cumbersome and toxic, aluminum is recommended. -
Build your own!

Don't go without! Build your own!

Re:They stole his ideas?
Tinfoil is like, soooo 90's. Take that, evil mind-reading overlords.
-
Re:Don't watch TV
Television is an evil cult who has taken over the minds of the world and turned them into pliable citizens of a new world order.
Don't forget your hat. -
Re:I know it's April 1 but...Geez, I thought everyone knew that since the Government is using Alien technology, you need to use the same multi-layer Velostat hat that you use to stop alien abductions
;-) -
It's the same kind used in mind control...
I suspect that it's simply a patch antenna. For the size and weight, it's hard to beat the gain of a patch antenna.
Here is an example for 802.11b of which the author notes, "What's nice about the patch antenna over the "cantenna" is its broad beamwidth. The cantenna has to be pointed very precisely at the AP to get anything at that range, but the patch can be tilted several degrees and still get a signal." The Spirit's antenna was estimated to be 2 degrees off aim at the initial connect attempt, but they said they should still get good data at up to 4 degrees off, and beyond that they would still get carrier.
While the frequency is different, you'll find that these people sell patch antennas which compare favorably in signal strength with their parabolic antennas, but with a wider beam spread.
But we all know they're simply using the technology they've been using for years to practice mind control on us.

Re:I will love this plan...No, no, no.
You have to use 3M Velostat to make mind-control-prevention hats.
Aluminum foil doesn't work nearly as well.
Everybody knows that now, thanks to the web.

Re:The Straight Dope
This page explains it all. It's got tinfoil hats for sale. And the model on the front page. Try not to have any liquids in mouth loading page. It'll end up on the monitor!
Oh and these guys appear to be for real. -
Make your own for only $35
Stop Abductions are trying to pass it off as Michael Menkin's 1998 invention. What a scandal. Maybe he just popularized it for the masses?

Re:My back fucking hurtsYou are being attacked by CIA Mind Control satellites and/or aliens. They are causing the sneezing too. You need protection.
Your painful, bleeding rectum is your own damn fault though.
