Same problem with "cTunes" as with "jTunes", eh?
Much the same problem with regard to lack of access for U.S. customers can be found at the Canadian iTunes store. For example, there's more tracks available from "The Tragically Hip", a Canadian group that has a small, but strong, fan base here in the States, including me. In particular, there are several iTunes-exclusive download albums of live concert material of "The Hip" called "Live 10", which are unavailable to U.S. downloaders.
*SIGH*

Re:HmmmmmTragically Hip fans will not be surprised at the news:
Pigeon Camera
It was handsome at the auction,
oh but when we got it home,
it grew into something we could
no longer contain
Where's our pigeon camera,
by now he could be anywhere

Re:can't you tell by my ridiculous accent? It's precisely this attitude that causes a good number of Canadians to dislike Americans out of hand - it's called smug superiority and it's effing annoying.
If you don't like American Culture, then don't partake of it. Create your own. Enjoy your own.
We have our own culture. We had more of it before some people realized that they could make more money by showing/playing cheaper imports from the USA (which leads to our Canadian content rules for radio and television). Ever heard of The Tragically Hip? How about BNL? Read any Mordecai Richler lately? Maybe some Robert J Sawyer?Stop blaming America for your problems.
I will stop blaming America for problems when America stops causing them (and that includes discussions like this where I'm probably going to get modded -1 Troll for being Canadian). -
Not the first

the Tragically Hip has done this before
When you by the Hip album "In Violet Light" you get membership to The Hip Club. Membership includes things like free bonus tracks of unreleased and live material, exclusive merchandise only available to THC members, first in line ticket access to select shows... Sounds like more new ground being broken by Canadians and credit being given to Americans.

Re:sorry, I have to say this...
if they say 'sudio', does this mean they are subject to the "Genesis Tax" (AKA, the "Phil Collins Tax")?Even worse. Since the Canadian government has decided that we citizens of the great white arctic hell aren't smart enough to choose our own music, the CRTC (Canadian equivalent to the FCC) forces it on us with the Canadian Content act.
All Canadian radio and television broadcasters must play at least 40% Canadian content.
That was bumped up nationally, from 35%, in response to the fact that Q107 Toronto started syndicating the Howard Stern Radio Show.
And the media tax goes to support all those Canadian "artists" who are being "robbed" by piracy. The talented Canadian musicians get Green Cards and get the hell out pretty quickly, leaving only the chaff. Last time I checked, Rita McNeil and Buffy St-Marie weren't too popular on Gnutella.
Ah, I love my government. I get to listen (WAV, others available) to the Tragically Hip's Bobcaygeon twice a day on my local radio station because they can't play what people want to hear.
Further, American TV networks are frequently censored on Canadian cable systems, based on Canadian broadcast law. Here's what you get when they do that.
I feel so trapped by my government.
I wonder if the lack of a free Canadian broadcast media is grounds for me to claim refugee status in the United States...

Re:(OT)Flatbed scanners
In a similar vein, here is an album cover done entirely by pressing various body parts against a color photocopier: http://www.thehip.com/hypercd/im ages/fully-cover.jpg. A description of the exact process they used is also there.

Tragically Hip's Music @ Work
That not-yet-released album has been floating on Nap. for several weeks now. I wonder what effect the 0dayMP3 release will have on the album sales.
The official release is june 13 (http://www.thehip.com/). Could we perhaps have a slashPoll like:
A) I've downloaded Music@work MP3s
B) I've downloaded Music@work MP3s and will buy the album
C) I've downloaded Music@work MP3s and bought the album
D) I bought the album, don't have the MP3s
E) Tragically WHO?

Canadian MusicI agree, the government telling you what you should listen to is bad, very bad.
But just remember: Would you rather hear Third Eye Blind on the radio or The Tragically Hip?
(Hum. I'm sure many fellow Americans are going 'tragically what?' Well, here's a link for you.
