The United States of StaziLand
Plead guilty and then get a fair trial, welcome to the United States of StaziLand. Snowden did the US and the world a favor by exposing the US state security apparatus for what it really was, a monolithic and ruthless conspiracy. ref

Re:yea and my toaster
This who brouhaha over smart meters seems absurd to me.
This is the power company wanting to know how much power you're taking form them, and at what time; getting angry about this is like getting angry that the local grocery store knows what time you come in every week to buy 5 bags of Doritos and a 24-pack of Mountain Dew (WalMart already knows when your have sex, when your period is, etc.). It's a transaction between two parties, there's no expectation that one of the parties not know when and how much he's selling his product!
Now, while I think it's perfectly legitimate for a business to track its sales, I do think the information encoded in those transactions should not go beyond the parties initially involved; junk mail advertisers have no business knowing your interactions with Wal-Mart since they were not part of the transaction. What we need are strong laws preventing the sale of customer information to third parties. -

Re:Only 90%?
Incorrect. In any case, adding Curcurmin to the mix would solve that
problem -- http://www.tribuneindia.com/2001/20010221/cth3.htm .

Re:Louis Freeh was also shown to be a partisan liaAnd let's not even start discussing how many Friends of Bill have died under unusual circumstances, [alamo-girl.com] many of them under investigation for crimes related to the Clintons.
Yes. Instead let's discuss how full of crap you are and how you can come up with a list like that for anyone.

Re:Latest US Government cover-ups and lies
Here.
Here.
Here.
Here.
The US has been giving weapons to certain regimes to fight other regimes for decades now. Two instances which even the American public know about are the weapons we gave to the Contras in Iran, and the weapons we gave to the Muhajideen (who would go on to become the Taliban) in Afganistan. So these reports from the "tinfoil-hat" people are much more grounded in reality than most people would like to believe. -
did the US have a hand in it?
Did the US Military
participate in starting the Oil Well Fires of Kuwait in 1991?

Did the U.S. Set Fire to Kuwait's Oil Fields?
A popular radio program heard worldwide claims to have proof that the United States, working under the auspices of the United Nations, was responsible for igniting the massive oil field fires in Kuwait at the close of the first Iraqi war. The controversial talk show team of Joyce Riley and Dave VonKleist host the Missouri-based program "The Power Hour" which is carried mostly by independent and "patriot" radio stations. The program boasts an audience of several million listeners.
The duo has provided a transcript of an interview recently conducted with a Gulf War veteran who alleges that he participated in the covert detonation campaign of Kuwaiti oil wells, crafted to implicate Iraq, in order to "remove any doubts that Saddam Hussein and his regime were a terrible evil that had to be dealt with." This mission was allegedly necessary because "there was concern that America... might see this conflict as an unnecessary thing."
The talk show hosts, who gained notoriety for championing causes supporting Gulf War veterans, assert that this interview is bolstered by other independent testimonials they have received. "The information provided over a series of meetings with this veteran corroborates the reports from other veterans who are totally unconnected with this individual," the duo states in their press release.

Old concept... Planetran
I'm sure there are a dozen other comments pointing out that this is an old concept... but none seem to have mentioned this particular version. Many years ago (late 50's, I believe) a Rand physicist by the name of Robert Salter came up with something that sounds a whole lot like this supposed "news". He called it the Planetran, and it's popped up in the press and fiction many times. It's even made an appearance in some very strange recent articles about the so-called "shadow government".
