Step 0: Abolish Gerrymandering
So that the vote ranking doesn't merely get us another representative President blockaded by a nutjob UN-representative House Of Representatives.
There are a couple ways to do this (create geometric rules for districts, or switch to proportional representation in Congress) and I read somewhere a Supreme Court decision in 1964 may make the prospect more probable than it sounds.

Plastic pipes
Are plastic pipes rated for nuclear applications? http://www.timesargus.com/article/RH/20100227/NEWS04/2270342/0/NEWS02 Seems like weakening bonds with ionizing radiation in a hydrocarbon polymer might lead to oxidation and weakening of the material. Even UV seems to weaken it.

Re:I won't lie- This concerns me
Exactly- It wasn't a PR guy, it was Jay Thayer, VP of operations, among others. Backtracking and in trouble: A detailed timeline on who said what on Vt. Yankees Also, instead of 0 underground pipes, there are 40. And they've found Cobalt-60 and Zinc-65 in a "trench". Nice

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/6875711/I'm not even trying hard. Just put
court halt "wind farm"
into Google. No FOX News involved. And no, these aren't the NIMBY cases; I skipped those. These are enviro's killing wind development over "rare grasslands", various birds, etc.
The evidence for the intolerence of "all the greens" for basically any development at all, including so-called "renewable" energy is obvious. Pull your greeny head our of your ass and pay attention.

national deficit
to the best of my understanding there it is a stretch to say that there is a direct correlation between paying less taxes and creating more national debt.
When your income goes down either you cut spending or you go into debt. Not only has the US federal government cut income, taxes, but it has also ballooned spending. When Bush was sworn into office in 2001 there was a budget surplus of, if I recall right, $300B. Now under Bush the USA has the highest budget deficit it has ever had.
What's so hard to understand about that?
Paying more taxes does not make the economy healthier.
Agreed. However when taxes are cut spending needs to be cut as well. We can start by getting rid of waste. Paying more than a half billion dollars ( $740B so far for the world's largest embassy) for a new embassy in Baghdad? That's absolutely ridiculous. With that kind of money you could hand every Iraqi $10,000 and still leave pocket change. How many Iraqis would then hate the US?

Re:It'll never happen in the U.S ...Please define a "real alternative fuel". If it's a good idea, I'm sure there's a big (evil) business that would be happy to exploit it for profit. That's your real beef with ethanol, isn't it? Ok, let me give you an example. I'm actually for nuclear power. I think that it's the lesser of all evils, seeing as we're not likely to get power sats working any time soon. I believe that modern, well-regulated reactors will be as safe and secure as any other alternative and with less of an environmental impact to boot. However, I'm distrustful of private companies running the reactors. They're not interested in a reasonable profit operating as a public utility, they want to cut operations to the bone and maximize profit at the expense of the public good. Just look at Vermont Yankee. The cooling tower collapsed. The motherfucking cooling tower collapsed. And this is after it passed inspection!
Now I'm moving beyond fact into pure speculation but I would not be surprised if we found out that the inspectors flagged problems with the reactor but they were overruled by their superiors so that the reactor could be certified, superiors who are asshole buddies with the plant owners. That's just the way things are done. And that's also the reason why people will keep on dying until we make this punishment for this sort of corruption hurt like hell. -
Re:That's not the point. And yet the laws stay on the books, because they're for the greater good--our safety. Besides, traffic sign effectiveness has to do with its conveyed message.
More on those "naked streets":The RAC Foundation, an independent body established to protect the interests of motorists, believes the naked street concept can work -- but only in certain situations.
It's worried about the safety implications of such a scheme along Exhibition Road, where free museums annually attract millions of visitors, including schoolchildren.
Currently pedestrians in the area are encouraged to elude the street-level turmoil by using a drab underground walkway.
"We have a concern that introducing a scheme which means drivers must make eye contact with pedestrians could backfire if you have a busload of 10-year-olds trying to cross the road," said Edmund King, the RAC Foundation's executive director.
"There are surely other things that can be done to help pedestrians without compromising safety," he said. "It is an interesting idea in completely the wrong place."
I should note--you're arguing that removing traffic signs would make people drive more safely. Are you now saying not enforcing copyright would make people buy the real thing, contradicting your earlier point that it's "the will of the people" to file-share materials?
In other words, distracting traffic signs have nothing to do with the topic of file-sharing. You claim "will of the people," I point out other wills of the people that derail that argument, and you bring up traffic sign distractions and vehicle queue problems. They have nothing to do with each other. -
Re:Censored pictures...
Actually, families are not permitted to photograph the return of their son or daughter's coffin.

Re:I love the USA
Not for long.
I agree with the fact that the USA is only hurting itself. Not only international relationships, but its economy too. Tariffs have historically shown to hurt the country that imposes them more so than the country that receives them. See: Great Depression (partial reason) -
Re:Middle East
Reading your linked article, I think that the reason the reporters might be biased against Israel might be due to Israel's recent performance, but that might be just me. There are plenty of other examples of similar behavior (shooting of UK civilian by sniper, shootings of palestinian children by snipers, the Israeli tank that fired two tank shells into a group of unarmed civilians), but I can't be bothered to dig for specific articles. You might also note the following article.
