Isn't this the reason why? It's colonial science after all. You have to come up with decolonized phones first.

Re:What a broad definition
Or say... Vet Ranch (a non-profit veterinary group that posts happy pet videos that happen to usually include the surgeries performed to help the animals - very educational - can be a bit gross in parts, but very educational and uplifting).
YouTube demonetized their videos for quite a while and I think they got their ads back now but they had to fight long and hard for it. (I use uBlock Origin, so I don't see the ads but I saw the discussion about it go on for quite some time).
Vet ranch even went so far as to start censoring/blurring the surgery in their videos in an effort to prevent them from being taken down altogether (not just demonetized).
Veterinary surgery videos demonetized. Why? Offensive? No... plenty of pet food or toy companies would love to advertise on their videos, I am sure of it.
YouTube cannot be trusted when it comes to content control regarding advertising. They just can't. If you want to make money on your videos post them somewhere else.

Re:Youtube:profiting on everyone's copyright for f
"Wrong box" sounds like a user interface problem. In my opinion, a user interface that is confusing to navigate is defective. Did you take a screenshot of the confusing part of YouTube's form?
Your "regular citizen or gold tier" appears to be a paraphrase. What phrasing did YouTube actually use? Using the same terminology that YouTube uses may help other readers understand exactly what went wrong.
The "bot entrance" appears to be related to the Content ID system. I have read that because Content ID is the most CPU-intensive takedown means, YouTube offers Content ID only to copyright owners whose work is uploaded most often. Is this qualification part of what you meant by "gold tier"?

Western Liberal Values
I was just listening to this guy on the radio yesterday. He's a UK "Liberal" who spends his time attacking the ideology of the Progressives he so vehemently opposes.
YouTube demonetized him and so he went to Patreon, but is only getting 1/4 of the revenue he was before (which he says is enough to pay the rent and keep the lights on, so he's continuing).
Google has a serious problem when it's shutting down legitimate political speech under the pretext of "Social Justice". Jesus, if I couldn't handle hearing the occasional "fuck you, political group" I'd be on Twitter, not YouTube. I hope Google gets its head on right about political speech and returns to supporting Western liberal values. Y'know, "Do The Right Thing". "Don't Be Evil" was a better moral compass, though.
The ironic thing is that this guy points out that WSJ, which started this kerfuffle, is not really attacking these particular YouTubers, it's attacking YouTube, as the most successful New Media platform. It's an Old vs. New fight, and Google is walking right into the trap and handing power back to the Obsolete Media.
Anyway, where can I find a list of sponsors who are pulling out over the ideologies of whichever YouTubers? I'd like to boycott them.

Re:Looks more like a giant liberal loss to me
The most racist people I know are do good liberals who are trying to save colored people. Like Whiteplaining why black people can't use cell phones.

They think they aren't racist because they are trying to "help" people of color.
-
Looks more like a giant liberal loss to me
Conservatives only attack people on an ideological basis, I don't see anything in the rules that would stop any conservative videos I've seen.
Nope, instead you are going to see a lot of content pulled from notable racists like Hillary Clinton, who can't help but blame problems on an entire race of people.
Remember kids, being color-blind means just that - don't place blame on people based on the color of their skin! Everyone has different pasts and experiences, such that you cannot categorically treat them as as a group instead of individuals.

Re:Why not just a single standard
I have a Samsung phone that supposedly supports Samsung Pay, but I've never even configured it as I don't think I've seen a single store that advertises accepting Samsung Pay.
Samsung Pay will work everywhere Android Pay and Apple Pay work.
But it will even work on most old magnetic-only terminals that do not support NFC, because in addition to NFC, Samsung Pay can also spoof a magnetic card (assuming the magnetic reader is not deeply embedded in the machine).
And like Android Pay, Samsung generates a unique one-time number, so it's safer to use than the credit card itself. After all, a credit card number is almost like a password and it doesn't make sense to use the same password with different vendors. As soon as one vendor gets compromised, your credit card number is at risk.

Re: Fuck off america
from how Trumpcare (grandiose over a House vote that is Dead in the Senate)
Well, they gotta do something, obamacare is failing under its own weight, and many voted to get rid of the damned thing, this is him trying to keep election promises.
I'm going to put "Pass a pretend law that doesn't even work that merely checks off a list that gets buried in the morass on the Senate" as doing less than nothing.
It's just a pretend act, by a pretentious pompous turnip. If the ACA is failing, Trumpcare will do nothing to ameliorate it.
Muslim Ban (Even aside from the issues in court, the sudden implementation was flawed)
Hmm...he was wanting to restrict travel from a small subset of countries with heavy terrorist activity, that was largely the same list the Obama administration restricted for awhile when he was in office?
Again, seems more common sense than acrimony or racism....it does happen these areas are largely muslim, but hey...if we have an upturn in terrorist Buddhists or Presbyterian activity, I expect to enact similar restrictions
Ah, but Obama didn't make the mistake of saying "HEY, let's revoke these bans as they're flyign into the country" let alone the even more egregious mistake of shouting his "Muslim Ban" to confirm the animus for all to see. Obama made a lot of mistakes, to be sure, but not on that one.
That's where Trump lost out. He should have simply moderated his words as "I will take steps to increase security and prevent terrorism" but instead he went to rallies and called for a Muslim Ban and no matter how many other words and phrases he salts into it, that's still going to haunt him.
And even if not that, he should have simply called for a review WITHOUT immediately cancelling all the existing documents that had been approved.
He might have gotten away with that and looked like he was keeping his promises, but instead, he did what he did, he said what he said, and that'll haunt him.
Websites linger too.
...we know we have another indication that he just wants to tear down Obama.
Well, a lot of people didn't like many of the things Obama did, and hence voted for someone to reign them in vs continue another 4 years of the same policies.
Oh, Trump isn't going to rein anything in, he's rushing off like Mr. Toad on a Phaeton, heading right to the cliff. He's got the crop, not the reins.
See, you leave out the key part: When you do it just because you just want to tear Obama down, rather than actually seek out valid and actual substance on which to base policies and practices, that's where you are making your own self clear. And boy did Trump do that when he revealed the truth on immigration. He drew all the lines himself.
And it ain't a pretty picture. Doesn't help him one bit either. At this rate, the Norwegians are going to give Obama ANOTHER prize just to spite Trump.
Again...keeping election promises...
You keep relying on that. It's going to haunt you too.
Hell, he could have scored more points by simply forwarding it to the Senate as a treaty.
OH just great..then it *would* have made it binding....no thanks.
No, the treaty being forwarded to the Senate wouldn't have made it any more binding, even assuming they'd ratified it. You do know that they can choose to reject a treaty, don't you?
You don't need to be willfully obtuse, it doesn't serve much purpose.
If they rejected it, he could proclaim that the "Senate Spoke, and

Re: Meanwhile in the lithium refinery in china.
It is not simply a matter of suffocation, but studies (including on the ISS) show issues with cognitive function, kidney function and bone loss.
?! Seriously?! I worked during 2 years for a company whose business was focused on emissions (mostly from internal combustion engines) and, as per my knowledge, all the industry wasn't even considering CO2 as a pollutant until relatively recent times. Also I wasn't aware about the fact that humans (or any other living being) are systematically generating poisonous-to-themselves compounds. Are you saying that just breathing is bad for your health?! Wow! You should quickly let everyone know about your discoveries because there are lots of people wrong out there. The medical community should start recommending people not breathing and/or not being around of other breathing things. Logically, I believe that all what you are saying is completely true, but just for future readers not knowing you, your knowledge and intentions as well as I do (random other AC), would you mind to share some reference from a reasonably trustworthy source somehow supporting your words?
The Paris agreement technically covers all relevant GHGs.
According to Wikipedia, you mean H2O, CO2, CH4, N2O, O3, CFCs, HCFCs, HFCs. If this is true (why or how could I doubt about the reliability of such a trustworthy source of knowledge as you have proven to be?!), it would mean that, out of the main pollutants from internal combustion engines, they only care about the referred CO2. Note that N2O has nothing to do with the dangerous NOx (NO + NO2), also that its other name (laughing gas) gives a good idea about its actual relevance.
Sorry, two for two.
Yes, I agree I think that the first paragraph reflects much better your surprisingly in-denial (dishonest?!) ignorance though.
I'd post links but I am on mobile, so a bit more trouble.
But you did share all that knowledge with the rest of the world anyway. Thanks! And I am saying that as both a human and a learner.
Jennifer Law did one of the studies, as a NASA flight surgeon, it should be public documentation though. And fo the other, just read the treaty.
Jennifer Law doesn't sound like the kind of made-up name intended to be appealing to gullible audiences? Like the fake name used by a scammer or what Sarah Silverman's last trailer is mocking with "Tom Virtue"? Also a flight surgeon?! Are now (flight!!) surgeons taking care of emissions and their effects on health? I thought that all this was taken care of by biology-focused specialities, but what has a surgeon to do with anything of this? And also NASA (well... they might do some work on emissions, although not sure that via their flight surgeon)?! Please, do a little effort as soon as you can and share a like to that breaking-through research! We have to let the industry and the world know! They have done so many mistakes and Jennifer is so unfairly not extremely famous!

After the left collapse, the US could possibly form closer ties with post-Brexit UK and maybe Japan, who also has a strong right wing movement

Please define "not getting anything in return"
You going and earning a dollar actually means that you had something of value the other party wanted to exchange money for. It's a win-win scenario. Taxation, on the other hand, is the government coming and taking money from you, and you not getting anything in return.
Taxes are spent on many different things. They are used for public spending, which means spending on public property - on institutions and services that are not privately owned.
So the taxes you pay are used to pay for:
transport
education
health
law and order
housing
culture, media and sport
trade and industry
environment, food and rural affairs
overseas development and defense. The "taxes don't do anything for me" argument reminds me of the Monthy Python

Re:Not comparable
So the introduction of the automobile necessitated a lot of infrastructure build out that created jobs.
No, that is a terrible summary. The infrastructure jobs were just overhead. Acceptable overhead.
The thing with cars is that despite what had to be spent hiring people to make the infrastructure, accessible transportation created new markets for theaters, restaurants, (and commuting, though!) etc and despite the expense of those jobs too, most of us think it has been a boon to the economy. With a car, you "get more life " than what most people had a century ago. Cars were worth it.
Where do the jobs come from when you're dealing with a refinement to existing technology that takes this same infrastructure and just uses it more efficiently?
One idea: Ads. If you can remove the driver and turn them into a passenger, they can do something instead of driving, which involves them looking at ads. Get enough millions of people doing this, and Google will have to hire an additional 1-3 people to oversee some of the issues involved in the AIs serving these new eyeballs. And despite the expense of these three new salaries, people will be overall happier, because they don't have to drive. Commute time will become another form of leisure time. So it'll be an economic advance despite the creation of a handful of jobs.
What people need to realize is that a lot of professional drivers will get laid off. They'll be able to do something more useful. Of course we don't know what they'll figure out to do, though. (No, they won't all go into the ad business!) If we knew what they'll do, we would be doing it now!! Freeing up their brains is a part of the advance. It always is. You don't know what they'll do, until you see them doing it. 100 years ago, you didn't know the blacksmith's kid was going to open a restaurant. You'd be all, "WTF is a restaurant? You mean, like an inn? We need more inns? I'm calling bullshit on that." You'd miss it, until it was happening. Then you'd retroactively "get it."

No substitute for using your head
It first helps to gain a basic knowlege of the subject area. If you care about global warming, read a scientific study. If you care about politics, become familiar with liberal, conservative and libertatian schools of thought. For the later, I would recommend Cato institute home study course. Then, if you see something that contradicts established body of knowledge, you will be in the best position to research further. Extraordinary claims require extraordinary proof.
Other than that, pay news sources independent of ad revenue are good to add to the mix. There is nothing wrong with New York Times. The best subscription deal I could find was on Google Play Newstand, but your milage may vary.

Re:People Don't Demand Better
I was shocked to realize the same thing a few years ago. We were looking for live music performers for a festival. A cellist friend brought in a CD of his friend playing Beethoven's Emperor Concerto. While we listened to it, he raved about how good his friend was. I pointed out he was missing a lot of notes, and everyone looked at me like I had just said spaghetti grows on trees. So I started pointing out every time he missed a note, and all I got were dumb stares. It gradually dawned on me that the vast majority of people, even trained musicians like my cellist friend, can't hear individual missed notes.
In the years since, I've thought about why this might be. I think it's because the "individual" notes in music are not acoustically distinct. When you have 4 instruments each playing different notes, it's not like putting 4 distinct marbles in a bowl. Each "note" is actually a hodgepodge of a fundamental frequency with dozens of overtones. The ratio of the amplitude of these overtones to the fundamental determine the sound of the note characteristic to each instrument (e.g. violin vs. guitar). When you play multiple notes together, these overtones combine into a morass of sound instead of remaining distinct. It's not like putting 4 separate marbles into a bowl. It's like mixing 4 different color paints in the bowl. So being able to separate out the individual notes is something your brain has to learn how to do. "What combination of notes and overtones would produce the sum total amplitude that I'm hearing?"
Except for a few exceptional people and musically inclined individuals (who near lots of notes over and over in different combinations), most people's brains never learn this. So rather than hearing individual notes, most people only hear an overall sound. They're unable to pick out a missed note in a piano concerto, or a misplaced opening riff. Listen to Ravel's Bolero (same melody repeated over and over with different instrument combinations) and try to name the instruments. Easy when it starts with individual instruments, but gets harder when multiple instruments start playing together. -
Re:They are? While you certainly don't want music to intrude in a negative fashion, its transparency to a viewer might not be a bad thing. In other words, the music might contribute to a viewer's experience of a film without their explicit awareness (or acknowledgement).
film is where the the majority of good, new music is coming out of these days
I recall speaking to a local community college professor composer several years ago whose aim was film scores. I was initially surprised till I realized a good score stands alone. Mark Snow (of X-files fame) comes to mind. I just saw 'The Founder' and enjoyed Carter Burwell's work.
