Insurance companies are but one very tiny aspect of why people should care about what trails they leave behind. I remember reading about an executive at one of the larger tracking companies. He said he pays cash for everything he can. He pays for email. He blocks all ads, cookies, etc. Interesting take from a guy who make his coin from tracking and profiling.
