Re:The liberals are in fact aiding the moslems !
If you look at France: They have a huge problem integrating immigrants (or at least treating them reasonable well). If you read an article like this:
http://www.theguardian.com/wor...
you have to wonder, if this is really about religion or about the youth having no future and then finding a reason for getting violent.Ah, the old "they're just poor and misunderstood" argument. That myth has been debunked a million times by terrorism research, but it just won't die. The muslim world is full of this type of violence, and thousands of young men have joined Deash from Algeria alone. Are you claiming that Algerians in Algeria are not integrated and are marginalized by Islamophobes?
Different countries have different ways of dealing with immigration. Whatever the approach, all western countries have to deal with islamist terrorism, as well as plain old muslim antisocial and criminal behavior. This behavior is caused by the ideology, mentality and cultural values that have been imported from the muslim world. Some examples:

Re:Ridiculous...
It does hover, actually. It's more like a drone in behavior than a rocket. So you could pick someone up, drop off breathing equipment, use it to figure out where a fire has spread to, if people are stuck somewhere, etc...
Recent Stability and engine tests
And you can really turbocharge the flames making certain the fire goes out sooner. I'm not for certain that two big props sending all that air to fires is all that great an idea. Now for fun though - that's pretty cool.

Re:NUKEM!! NUKEM NOW!!
One thing that makes us better than them is....we try hard to limit civilian causalities when striking military targets.
Except the leaked Collateral Murder video shows Americans deliberately attacking and killing civilian first responders. America considers this a war crime when our enemies do it. None of the killers were ever charged with a crime, and neither were any of the officials who covered it up and lied about the existence of the video before it was leaked.

Re:It's also rather hard to believe it would work
Download this app, start it, switch to spectrum mode: Oscilloscope (It's open source. The link is to the F-Droid Open Source app store.)
Then play this "Hearing test" Youtube video on a different device. It's a sweep from 20Hz to 20kHz. You can skip to the last third for the high frequencies.
Observe that you can clearly see the spike in the spectrum going almost all the way up to 20kHz, far beyond what most people can hear. The horizontal flyback transformer in CRT TVs had a frequency below 16kHz, and in many TVs, even expensive ones, the oscillating magnetic field caused components to vibrate and emit audible noise at that same frequency. I wrote "audible noise" there, but many people actually couldn't hear it. Children and teenagers usually could, but adults could not. The band from 18kHz to 19kHz is well within the operating range of audio hardware, but even most young people don't hear frequencies that high. With better audio compression codecs and higher bitrates, these frequencies are no longer summarily filtered out either.

Re:Can you liberals please wake the fuck up?
Note: I'm not endorsing this, I'm tossing it out as a thought, I get that it has problems and isn't perfect...
Nothing wrong with a problem solver just tossing those ideas under the nearest troll bridge.
It is easy to say "well more bombing won't solve the problem", and that might be true, the way we do it. What if we started using nuclear weapons? The point could be made, "either join the 21st century or be exterminated".
Do you not even see the irony in this statement?
It worked against Japan. They simply didn't get it, couldn't change, and wouldn't listen, even when we were firebombing Tokyo. It took the threat of extermination to finally get the Emperor to see reason.
Well handing columns of US provided armored military vehicles over to Daesh didn't seem to work... so why not... https://www.youtube.com/watch?...
It saddens me to even say that, it is a horrible thing, but we're facing a horrible situation that won't get better by being nice about it.
No I totally get it... killing everyone would solve what is mostly a regional civil war.
-
Re:India, Kenya, Paris...where next?
You're confused, there is no easy access to full auto weapons here.
What we learn from this is that there is rational basis for U.S. gun owners to want high capacity magazines, concealed weapon carry, semiauto rifles with features for convenient combat use. So when the shit comes here, we have the tools for dealing with the shitting scum.
You want to be a victim or have a chance?
Since the second amendment specifically states militia, it appears that gun owners should be able to own everything the regular services do, correct? You are the militia, You gonna do well with your assault rifle against a tank or staring down a Warthog dropping cluster bombs? https://www.youtube.com/watch?....

You are not understanding the context about why this is happening... why products are being compromised. There are political moves behind the scenes you are not seeing.
The (mass surveillance) by the NSA/others and abuse by law enforcement is just more part and parcel of state suppression of dissent against corporate interests. They're worried that the more people are going to wake up and corporate centers like the US and canada may be among those who also awaken. Re:Why
Couple of other things you didn't mention:
1. Muslims are simply going to force the "natives" to become the minority via population control.
With Open Gates: The forced collective suicide of European nations2. The silent majority ARE the problem.
3. Major US News Station are also part of the problem, such as Faux News. i.e. CNNi put together an award winning one-hour documentary on the use of internet technologies and social media by democracy activists in Bahrain and then refused to show it on CNNi. (CNNi "officially" give the excuse it was only "commissioned for CNN US")
On 19 June 2011 at 8pm, CNN's domestic outlet in the US aired "iRevolution" for the first and only time. The program received prestigious journalism awards, including a 2012 Gold Medal from New York Festival's Best TV and Films. Lyon, along with her segment producer Taryn Fixel, were named as finalists for the 2011 Livingston Awards for Young Journalists. A Facebook page created by Bahraini activists, entitled "Thank you Amber Lyon, CNN reporter | From people of Bahrain", received more than 8,000 "likes".
Despite these accolades, and despite the dangers their own journalists and their sources endured to produce it, CNN International (CNNi) never broadcast the documentary. Even in the face of numerous inquiries and complaints from their own employees inside CNN, it continued to refuse to broadcast the program or even provide any explanation for the decision. To date, this documentary has never aired on CNNi.

Another One...Star Trek: Axenar.
It's about the final battle in the war with the Klingons, set just before TOS.
They have a documentary-style leadup to it, called Prelude to Axenar. It's got decent production values, some good and logical story telling, and shows promise for what they want to do. Also some Trek alumni - Tony Todd, John Hertzler and Gary Graham, reprising his Enterprise role Ambassador Soval.

Re:Mixed
If they raise the posted limit, then everyone will just go 10 over the new posted limit. The assumption is that the posted limit is the safe design limit for the road, and since everyone is a better than average driver everyone can go a bit faster.
No, this is ridiculous. Here is a video showing how ridiculous it is:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?...
If the speed limit is the "suggested maximum safe speed", then don't ticket people. It's ridiculous for some places to ticket you for going 5 over the "speed limit" and other places allow you to go over by 20 mph at certain times of the day without getting a ticket. If it's the actual speed limit, then set it at the limit and enforce it. A compromise as people are used to speeding might be set it 10 below what you want the limit is and start enforcing it after 10 over but it's anarchy to have some places enforce it as a hard limit and other places allowing you to go 20 over but not 25 over. It leaves too much discretion in the cop's hands where they can selectively pull over the people they want and ignore other people equally breaking the "law"

Working on similar feature
I am building an object store where some of my data objects can each be a key-value store that is used as a column in a relational table. Some queries against a table require a full scan (e.g. SELECT * from my_table where address like '%Main Street%';). If I had a table with a billion rows, it can take awhile to scan the whole address column looking for matches (I dedup the values in each column, but there can still be 100 million unique address values in such a table.) The solution is to break each column into multiple segments and let separate threads scan each segment looking for matches. The scan can occur in parallel on multi-core machines and complete in a much quicker manner than forcing a single thread to scan the whole thing. It sounds very similar to what they are trying to do with PostgreSQL (except that database is row based where the whole row is stored together, instead of a columnar database like mine). Here are two short demo videos of the system in action. https://www.youtube.com/watch?... https://www.youtube.com/watch?...

Well now that depends. Fresh organic produce can be delivered by drone. Can the starving hordes take out a drone? Not at altitude, and especially not if there have been a few more decades of encroaching gun/weapon control. As for the lonely homeowner with a shotgun, keep in mind guns can and will be automated (e.g. https://www.youtube.com/watch?...)
That said, I think that dystopian vision is pretty unlikely. The reality is that people are social creatures and therefore other people have innate value to us. I mean look at how much money our society already spends on professional and college sports.

Re:Mixed
Not always. If you stomp on the brakes for no reason (ie: "brake checking" someone) and they can prove it (ie: they have a dash cam), you can be ticketed and found to be at fault for causing the accident. Here is an example: https://www.youtube.com/watch?... Aaron Z

mongoDB
It will be interesting to see how it compares with MongoDB. MongoDB does not use joins. MongoDB is webscale.
