The last time I questioned mikey in a series of posts I lost 20 points of karma in one day. Hard to believe there were than many "fans" waiting around to help their "comrade" in arms out.
What's really amazing is that michael thinks he is in the right. He is so blinded by his own self-worth that he honestly believes he is doing the right thing here. It's so sad to see someone throw good intelligence down the drain.

One of the dirty secrets of Slashdot is the editor's abuse of the moderation system. They mass-moderate comments in threads that they don't like, and sometimes even mod down all the comments of users they don't like. Even malicious users who don't like you for whatever reason can abuse certain moderations and not be penalized for it. Some misdirected noble users have tried coming up with ways not to play this moderation game, which is useless because Slashdot track karma by IP address. But, why should we inconvienence ourselves in order to suit the abuse of despots?
I would like to take this opportunity to declare the opening of a petition for the Slashdot editors to fit the moderation system of Slashdot to the people. It is located here, and I estimate at least 1000 signatures are needed in order for the powers that be to take it seriously.
