my Review of the Original device, which I still think is among the most useful portable electronic devices I've seen. I'm looking forward to testing out the new version to see what improvements have been made to an already great unit.
Anyone got any news on the new red banners? Did I miss something? Trying to improve the quality of the front page?

I'm not a subscriber, so this is the first red title bar I've seen. However, if I were a subscriber, I'd be much more impressed if the title used the marquee tag that only works in VB. It's much more flashy, you know.

Subscribers pay to avoid seeing ads, so they get early access to articles that are little more than ads? Glad I didn't waste my money on a subscription.

I can just see it now. The setting is the Slashdot offices, CowboyNeal can't remember which USB Drive to get for his computer and where he was going to go to get it.
Just then, Ms. Zeta Jones enters and sez "STOP" and puts a Sidekick in his hands.
What a dream.

The red banner has gone, as is the note below the submission, which stated, in a small font, that in case you have a problem with the story, you can mail the editor-on-duty.
My wild guess is that there exists a flag, maybe called "controversial" or "infomercial" that might be used in the future but which was turned on accidently for this story.

"(I) have this unfortunate condition that causes me not to believe a single thing any politician says when a mic's on.
The best thing that could happen would be for all the posts about their "mistake" being modded down to -1 and yet everyone keeps posting. Nearly every post mentioning the problem has been hit with overrated mods. Hopefully the posts will keep coming, the editors will keep abusing their moderation, and maybe the editors will make some changes. If you remember THE THREAD starting with a post by negativekarmanow tm, then maybe we can do it again. I hope so.

I'm sure all the people that buy one have their reasons too. Fortunately for the manufacturer, I suspect there will be more people buying than explicitly boycotting their product.
