Why hasn't anyone done a GiJoe mod for any game lately/at all? I don't know about other /.'ers but the idea of driving in a tank with the speed of a hummer while having dozens of rockets, 2 machine guns, a big'ol gun turret with only one driver sounds like great fun to me. Can't forget about the seacraft or aircraft either. Gotta have missle launching, floating-APCs and helicopters with enough firepower to level small towns single-handedly.

      THIS IS NOT THE END

      THIS IS A NEW BEGINNING

Lawyers have contracted us on behalf of the Hasbro Corporation.

As you could probably guess, they've issued a cease and desist.

      Our current plan of action:

We are in the process of contacting Hasbro directly to see if we can

get their permission to continue producing the mod.

It's a long shot to say the least.

We are assuming we will not get their blessing.

In that vain we have already begun converting most of the stuff in game

to a non-trademarked version of itself.

This means the mod will live on, with the same feel and same game play.

It's only the look of the Mod that needs to change.

In many ways this is an almost positive thing.

For instance, we now feel we can take greater creative

license with all the vehicles currently in game.

In fact, we think you'll enjoy the new versions of our

own vehicles more than their original counterparts.

We would like to take this time to thank all of our loyal fans.

We appreciate the support you've shown us over the past year

and hope you decide to stay with us through this rough spot.

More updates to come once we've heard from Hasbro.

Get a license for BF1942 and then sell the commercial product. Much better than trying to do the whole thing yourself just because you Lucas Arts. In the case of games, and especially huge ones like this, a small group of people are not always equal to a larger group of probably more talented people. Face it, half of a game like this is in the models and textures/artwork. Good artists rarely work for free and it doesn't matter which form of art they make (3D, 2D, scuplture, photography, ...).

LA will probably take notice of it, which might even be in the form of a canned cease-and-desist claim. Will they learn from it? Nope because LA's game looks 100x better.
