since my karma can't get any worse, I'll just say it: I tried OSX when it was first released. Opening day, I was on it. It did not run well on my machine. Too slow & laggy, whereas YDL has always worked fine and extended the life of my G3500.
I was wondering the same thing. I'm fairly certain that Portland has a higher percentage of athiests (like 20%) than any other major American metropolitan area. That's why it's so peaceful and friendly here.
These right wing freaks are hostile to modernity itself. Overtime was progress 70 years ago, now they want to go back. They are extremists who must be stopped.
Not only is the movie Serenity in pre-production, but the good folks at Universal asked Joss Whedon to rework the script. And the rumored reson was to make the movie a potential launching platform for... a television program.
It all will depend on how many people I can drag to the movie.
Between looking for jobs, I play unreal tournament. Throw rocks if you will, but I refuse to live my life under a constant cloud of dreariness simply because I don't have enough money.
The people who put this together must have spent so many hours on it that I can't even fathom. Why would you put that much work into something that's going to get shut down, and likely get you sued?
And for that matter, why not put all that effort into something original, rather than stealing someone else's ideas? Don't you think Star Wars is kinda done to death? What's the point? Have you no imagination of your own to match your programming skills?
If you're going to spend all that time, give the world something NEW.
I like UT better, as I found Q3 played too "smooth" like I was floating instead of running. UT just felt more "earthy" and organic.
That is of course the original UT vs. Q3. UT2003 felt more like Q3 and the unreal fans hated it for that reason. I still liked it. UT2004 is about 5 years better than Q3, so it becomes unfair to compare.
But then again, I might just not be playing at your high level. (j/k)
I've seen it written for a while now that we, the owners of 2003 will get a rebate, but how? Was I supposed to keep the packaging the game shipped in? I suspect so, and as someone who rationally recycles boxes things come in, I have no way to "prove" i bought and paid for 2003. I mean, thanks for the rebate, but I doubt I'll see it.
I don't know if anyone's still reading this thread, but I really want to point out that while it's all fine and good to steal from Microsoft and Adobe, thou shalt not steal from game developers! The guys at Epic deserve their payday, so cough up the $40 and encourage developers to make more awesome titles. And if anyone asks you to use your geek knowledge to help them get a warez copy of the game, tell them to go out and buy it.
There will always be persons for whom money will be god. They will never understand the motivation behind altruism, charity or volunteering. To them, since these activities do not make profit, they are foolish, naive and idiotic. I am over 30, and I feel sorry for them. Yes - it is a good idea to find ways to support yourself. However, that does not mean that contributing code to an open source project (or volunteering at your local animal shelter or whatever) is not a worthwhile endeavor.
What is truly foolish, naive and idiotic is to spend one's life pursuing nothing but money under the wrongheaded presumption that money will make you happy. Or that at the end of your life you will feel fulfilled.
You people are bitching about 911 service?! Do you complain when that *big government* fire department shows up with their *oppressive* hoses to save your shit when it's on fire?
Just go move to your shack in Montana and let the rest of us have a functioning community.:muttering under breath:
After UT2003 got mixed reviews (okay - bad reviews, but I liked it) the release last week of the 2004 demo has probably guarunteed they'll have a hit when the retail game hits stores. I've rarely, if ever, seen any demo get better reviews, and in this case, I think it will pay off well for Epic. They have used this tight demo to win back a fan base.
I just wish thunderbird had a function for seperate users. (The hugely crappy) incredimail has this handy function, and it couldn't be that hard to integrate, could it? And yes - we could create different windows logins, but I happen to live in a house where the residents trust each other, and it's easier not to do this.
I get complains all the time from my Mom while she uses ie and gets slammed with popup windows. No complaints? Sheesh. And I've walked her through Firebird installation over the phone. She has firebird on her computer, and she still uses ie, like some horrible habit.
So far so good with the new Fire*. I'm using it to post this, and since I couldn't sleep out here on the west coast, I got it just before the site went down.
Name suggestion: contact Joss Whedon & Mutent Enemy and see if the 1.0 version can be called "Serenity." At the very least, some clever chap please make the Firefly Theme!
Obviously, not all my extensions made the successful transfer. One essential extension is the one (sorry no credit) which allows me to switch between tabs using my mouse wheel.
Great idea to include the link/ad buttons. I already have the Firefox ad on my blog, and the logos are fantastic.
Question: after Firefox replaces Mozilla, are we still going to have a Composer? I use that to create & upload (my amateur, pathetic) web pages. I could always keep my regular Mozilla for that purpose, but it's too great a piece of software for the foundation to abandon.
I seriously thought about buying this game, but didn't because I didn't have the required broadband spec. I know complaining about high specs is fruitless, but there's still a huge % of us on dial-up, and i can play plenty of other online games with no problems.

I'm excited to get my mitts on 4.0.
A lot of these posts are reading like press releases. And I'm sure I'll get modded down by the i-Cult for pointing it out.
I have win2000 pro, and I never have to reinstall it. Had the same install for over 18 months now without a hitch.
West of the Cascades, we're progressive folks. East of the Cascades, it's backwater scary. Don't equate Idaho with Eugene, ffs.

nice attitude. That's exactly why I *loathe* the military. "I have a big gun, so I don't have to try and communicate." Assholes.

I know it was a joke, but I thought I'd point this out for the curious. Yes, 2004 is big, but it ships with 80 player characters and over 100 maps.

just because I run Windows doesn't mean I gave MS any money. Sheesh, I'm not *stupid*.
tttonyyy, you are my new favorite person. If I had mod points, I'd mod you to the roof. Thank you!

okay, so sometimes I just click without looking at the incoming URL. It was still underhanded.
