Kids don't like homemade versions of real stuff. Your kid doesn't want a homemade skateboard, or a homemade Playstation 2. They want to be like all of their friends.

Kids don't like homemade versions of real stuff because you let them sit in front of the TV all day, absorbing ads. Turn the TV off, give a kid a couple of plastic bags and a ball of yarn and watch them create stuff.

Either that or they will put the plastic bags over their heads and tie the yarn around their necks.

I actually check his page pretty frequently for his mods. You should check out his portable NES and the vagabond atari, they're some of his smallest ones and are quite impressive. That PS2 one is not exactly pocket-sized...but still impressive none the less.

This wonderful mod is also covered at Classic Gaming. They have links to several consoles that have been turned into portables, including the famouse Playstation and SNES conversions.
After flipping through the site, and looking at the construction images, I noticed that he has integrated the controller into the unit. Interesting, but makes one thought come to mind:
Its almost as big as the original xbox controller.

.but I can only imagine what it would be like to having someone playing Madden next to me for hours on end.
Maddening, perhaps?

And he only owns two PS2 games, which he doesn't even know the names of?

And here's an in-game photo. Sorry the only 2 PS2 games I have are both called Grand Theft Auto something, so it kind of limits the pictures I can take.
The one person on the face of the planet with a PS2 portable appears to be the least likely to use it!

That is awsome... it's always nice to see some people with a bit on imagination and talent... maybe Sony (or MS) should give him a job.

Does anyone else find it rather sad that he can hack together a portable PS2 system with equal or better battery life than Sony's official PSP?
