GTA3 and Vice City now Online Multiplayer

glengineer writes "A deep bow and an "I'm not worthy" to Kent Simon, at the University of Kentucky, Ed Lyons in London, and Chris McArthur in Canada who have made the dream come true for GTA fanatics like me - GTA3 and Vice City online multiplayer! Now I can streetrace and play Liberty City Survivor with real people, not just use the "crazy pedestrians" cheat. Rockstar would be nuts not to hire these guys. So, anyone up for a deathmatch? Meet me at the Malibu Club in Vice, or the construction site on Staunton Island."

Nice blaring fucking horn on the Microsoft ad making my coworkers stand up and ask what the hell it was.

I thought slashdot wasn't going to have obtrusive ads? You realize the ONE thing this site has going for it is that everyone comes here? Your software is mediocre (searching sucks), and your editors don't do BASIC checking for dupes. Whatever. This place has been declining for years, but the past 12 months have been pitiful.

OK, so I'm off topic, probably flamebaiting and in effect contributing (in short measure) to the thing I'm complaining about, but there's nowhere else to vent my spleen on this one.

Slashdot posts dupes, so what? If you're not interested, either because it's a dupe or just beacuse you're plain not interested, then don't RTFA. Skip over it. Ignore it. Let it go...

What is *far* more irritating (to me) than dupes are the lame posts of smart arse tossers whining on about dupes and about how crap slashdot is. If you don't like it, fuck off and read something else. Is someone holding a gun to your head and forcing you to read it? Go make you own version or something do something a bit more constructive.

    Bye, bye, karma!

I think it's really cool how you say "a few Buds" all casual and cool-like, and then make sure that we all understand that this is fancy, imported "Budiwar chezch beer ,not budweiser" (sic) so that we don't think you're some lowly plebian. In fact, it is we who are the lowly plebes, for when we hear of someone having a "Bud", we think of one of the most heavily advertised brands this country has to offer instead of a beer that few of us have heard of- a beer so good that its name should be capitalized even when the country it comes from does not get such treatment (or even correct spelling).

Still honestly not many ppl care. And for the record Canada is the largest country in the world(unless we sold some large islands I wasn't aware of). USSR was the largest until it split up into Ukraine and such. Suprised that no one else mentioned this. Be glad they mentioned Canada, most people around the world just group us as American as we live on North America. Or they come from Vancouver and most Americans think Vancouver, WA, and Canadians think Vancouver, BC.

if you mean size - then it's Canada at #2 - if you mean population then China(1), India(2), top the list ahead of everybody else, Canada doesn't make the top 20, but that's ok, because of other good stats:
In terms of per capita foriegn aid Canada's around #4
Among the G-7 countries - the richest economies in the world - Canada's per capita purchasing power is second only to the United States.
And somewhere I read a stat about being #2 in production of garbage - again second to the US if I remember correctly. (but seriously who studies that?)
