Via the Wonderland Blog, the news that Disney's Virtual Magic Kindgom has launched in a Beta state. The virtual space allows you to game some of the popular Magic Kindom rides, such as Pirates and Jungle Cruise. From the launch site: "For a limited time you can be one of the first Guests to live inside Disney's new online multi-Player game. Create your own adventures, control your Character and interact with Players from around the globe! Share thrilling competitions, exciting adventures and endless interactive Disney magic on the Internet. Help us make this online world a better place to play!"
...a first-person shooter set in the "It's a Small World" ride, then count me in!
Most. Annoying. Ride. Ever.
Next thing you know, Disney bucks will be worth more than real money! Err...wait a minute...
"It is a miracle that curiosity survives formal education." -Albert Einstein
I, for one, am looking forward to the new Lindsay Lohan ride...
You know, considering it's for kids and all. I wonder how they would protect kids from pedophiles. On the other hand, it's nice that's it's only open when they can moderate it. People living in dodgy timezones will have a problem with that thought... I had bad past experince with events happening in midnight. :P
;)
Have there been any online "virtual reality" chat for kids before? >_>
But it being spelled kindom, so it's must be a really nice chat.
Virtual lines for the bathrooms are still long. But, I will make a fortune farming...uh...mouse ears...to sell on ebay.
Winners who advance to 30th level can receive the ultimate prize!

Their character will be cryogenicly frozen and stored alongside Walt's corpse underneith the Pirates of the Caribbean.
And I think we just slashdotted Disney.com
94% of Repubs and 21% of Dems voted to renew the Patriot Act
I tried to put "Giggle" in my signature, but got an error that "Giggle" was not on the list of approved words....
I mightplay Magic Kingdom, Magic Kindom, and, If I have enough time left, I might try that other game, Magic Kindgom.
I can't wait to see Mickey Mouse say:
"LOL I 0wn3rZeD j00 n00b."
Good luck having a conversation with anyone. Conversations are limited to white-listed words.
You probably shouldn't click this.
I'll be over there renovating the Haunted Mansion. If you appreciate my efforts, feel free to contribute some Wuffie, cause I'm kind of Down and Out right now.
The Pirates of the Caribbean game is fun... Of course, nowhere as entertaining as Pirates!, what with the unresponsive controls and all... Too bad they censored "Arr", "arrr", "arrr", "arg", "arrg" and all other pirate words I could think of. Really dumbed down chat! Stops abuse, though, I guess, which is a good thing...
Lalala
1. being harrased by low paid employees,
2. being groped by disney characters.
3. the faulty odors at the lines.
4. the long long long LOOONG lines.
5. impossible to see parades unless you camp on main street sidewalk 2 hours b4 the show.
6. the impossible the walk through streets.
7. the high prices for everything.
so the virtual experience is as unreal as the matrix.
...and just when it's getting good, her dad ran into the room, punched me in the face, asked her for some money, and then ducked out. It's just like the tabloids say.

The price of freedom is eternal vigilance, or $12.50 as seen on eBay.....
I tried to call a Alice in Wonderland room "the Curiouser room" and curiouser was redlisted (blacklisted?) You'd think they would include that in their dictionnary... its straight from Alice.
The game's not bad, but the dictionary needs imporvment. Among the list of blocked words: "number", "50", "cant", or any other number or contraction without the "'". Makes communication almost impossible.
This is just Disney's latest attempt to jump on yet another band wagon, this time with mmorpg's. Fricking pathetic.
So, instead of pretending to be a pirate or a jungle explorer, we get to pretend to be a theme park guest pretending to be a pirate or a jungle explorer?
At least it's not a Universal Studios MMORPG....
How do they expect kids to play this thing? It takes forever to set up cuz you have to click through a load of legal mumbo jumbo and licences. What the heck. Also, talking to other people is impossible. The pre approved words list is limited to "Disney", "rules", "is", "great" (you can't say good). you cant say numbers. You can't do anything. My roomname that I created was very limited. The only name that I could actually get to work was "Fun for kids!" And I think the name of the room was funland. Needless to say, it was a misnomer. Fortunately, they didnt have a sarcasm detector in their rooms. So I think everyone understood when I told them all what a great time I was having.
p.s. Mickey sucks
1. being harrased by low paid employees
huh? i've never had a problem with Cast Members harrassing me. As a general rule, Disney CM's are the most courteous, friendly and helpfull customer-service workers anywhere. One thing Disney parks have never done, is the "hard sell" for things like souvenier photos, or annoying boardwalk-style games. They're there, but never pushed on you. The same can't be said for Universal or Six Flags however.....
May you be touched by His Noodly Appendage. RAmen.
dude you sound like a disney rep, my sister got security called on her because she was standing where she was not supposed to during a parade, but thank god all she had to do was to start crying to get the gorillas away and get a supervisor who "solved" her problem.
If any of you are actually interested in VMK, there is a site www.vmkforums.com for Hidden Mickey spots, glitches and alot more!!
If you look at the dictionary loading screen, it completes at "103%". With that much dictionary, how come there don't seem to be any words I can use?
