BlizzCon Cometh
Via Blues, the news that Blizzard will be hosting a games convention. The event, scheduled for October 28th and 29th, is intended to celebrate all three of the Blizzard franchises (Diablo, Starcraft, and Warcraft). From the announcement: "Attendees can look forward to a variety of events, including participating in question and answer panels with the developers of World of Warcraft® and StarCraft: Ghost(TM), playing Blizzard games live with friends, and watching the world's best Warcraft III and StarCraft pro-gamers compete in the BlizzCon Invitational tournament."
Please, Blizzard, announce Starcraft for the Nintendo DS!!
This will be a travesty if Leeroy Jenkins isn't included on one of the panels.
When their latency to battle.net gets too high, I wonder if they'll suddenly start to understand why battle.net is a good thing?
ooooh...shiny...

Blizzard should be weary about what they're getting into, but regardless I hope wherever it's being held has enough strollers and acne cream stations.

I'm going, and I'm going to find the developer who decided a priest should outdamage my paladin and kick him square in the balls.
Just to get inside? :-)
I just canceled my subscription yesterday though. It wasn't the poor game balance that did me in, though it helped! It was the absolutely terrible customer service.
I didn't buy Warcraft III, or anything else by Blizzard, as a result of Blizzard's stupid actions.

The "we" you refer to is a small niche. Most slashdotters don't care. If the game is fun they play it. Don't fall into the trap where you assume everyone, or even an majority, or even a non-trivial number of people, share your opinion(s). They don't.
That said, go play whatever game makes you happy for whatever reasons you have, and let the rest of us do the same without your nagging. Thanks.
Same for Best Buy and about any other electronics store I've visited. I'm surprised someone can't find it.
That's fine, but the rest of us are having an awful lot of fun. To each his own.
