2005 Machinima Festival This Weekend

An anonymous reader writes that "Village Voice has a small article by Julian Dibbell about the Machinima Film Festival that takes place this Saturday (Nov. 12th) at the Museum of the Moving Image in Astoria. The festival is also holding their annual awards on Friday night. For me, the highlight is their honoring David Wright for creating Keygrip (the program behind the creation of Quake movies like Blahbalicious and Operation Bayshield) - which is a nice nod to machinima's roots. Whenever there's a discussion of machinima, I never hear anyone mention Quake, it's all about RvB and Source these days. I'd be suprised if more than two people in the festival have ever heard of Keygrip, or machinima for Quake.

I remember trying Keygrip back in the day, but it felt too difficult and I could never get a grip on it. Har har.

Maybe it is a good idea, look at films inside warm and dry , or go outside and and get rained on. Yep , film is good.
