No Time Travel, Sorry
MOBE2001 writes "The bad news is that time does not change. Spatial velocity is given as dx/dt. Velocity in time(dt/dt) is nonsensical. As simple as that. In other words, no time travel to the past or the future, no motion in space-time, no wormholes and no hanky-panky with your great, great grandmother. There is only the changing present, aka the NOW. The good news is that distance is an illusion and we'll be able to travel instantly from anywhere to anywhere."
Every once in a while when I come across something that I dreamed of years ago, and that something plays back exactly the same way as it was in my dream, I can't help but thinking maybe there is a scripted future in the... future.
So while science may prove that physical time travel is unpossible, we may still manage to "see/communicate" with the past/future through other means (like The Mysterious Future! plum).

Only change: Alfred E. Neuman has been elected. Twice.
And his wife might get elected in 2008 as well...
A Government Is a Body of People, Usually Notably Ungoverned
Gives you real confidence in the 2008 election, doesn't it?
The living have better things to do than to continue hating the dead.
"The President who Never Won" No poem, but my dollar goes to whoever writes this about Gerald Ford, who was never, ever elected to executive office. He replaced Vice President Spiro Agnew when he resigned, and then replaced Nixon the same way. No one ever voted Gerald Ford into a presidential or vice-presidential office. Crazy.
I know I shouldn't feed AC trolls, but:
Al conceded that the election was stolen from him, and thus publicly conceded so that the republicans would fail to be able to spin the demands for recounts as a democratic plot to disturb the electoral process.
Just because a court does something, it doesn't make it legal. Decisions in lower courts are overturned by higher courts all the time.
You, sir, are the idiot. Do you also work for Congress, making "corrections" to Wikipedia entries?
"You're right," Fisheye says. "I should have set it on 'whip' or 'chop.'"
And he, along with Jimmy Carter were probably the two most decent Presidents of the 20th century. Crazy.
Of course time travel is possible! I've been travelling into the future all my life.
loyalty above all, save honor
Oh, come on. Every one knows Bush won the 2000 election fair and square, 5 votes to 4.

Well IANAL, but with that said... While I recognize the value (and burden) of case law, it seems like it's not quite that simple to me. Also, a court can ignore rulings of another court, although that probably makes the case easier to appeal. Still, in theory you can't just ignore the law of the land because of case law. Different circumstances lead to different interpretations...
