MC Hammer Launches a Search Engine
MC Hammer was among tech entrepreneurs announcing new products at the Web 2.0 Summit in San Francisco. The rapper's product is a new search engine called WireDoo. Sadly, it is not an index of things you can't touch, but instead a search engine focusing on relational items. Searching for the word "car" will bring up topics related to a car, like insurance, pricing and safety ratings. WireDoo is still being built and not available to the public yet.

So what you're saying is, we can't touch this search engine yet?
... touch this!
Is this legit?
so please Hammer, don't hurt them.
William of Ockham had no beard. The most likely explanation is that it was chewed off by squirrels every morning.

He went ~13 million (!!!) into debt, declared bankruptcy, eventually spent most of what he'd earned. He then made large changes in his life, and became a minister. Not my chosen profession, but I think it's still pretty interesting.
Maybe he's just the front for a startup hoping to get some angel investors on board. Actually, the kind of celebrity who already snorted all their money (and I'm not saying he is that kind of celebrity) is the perfect public face for that kind of setup (the celeb gets some much needed cash, the startup gets some money and the investors get to hang out with a washed up singer/actor who reminds them of their college days).
"I used to be legit. I was too legit. I was too legit to quit. but now I'm not legit. I'm unlegit. And for that reason, I must quit." ~ Rod Kimble
Every search will return 1 hit, and no hits ever after.

The title says "MC Hammer launches a search engine," but it hasn't been launched. So, where is the journalistic integrity and fact-checking accuracy Slashdot is world renowned for?
