The Ultimate Ergonomic Workstation
Ron Harwood
writes " This puppy
has it's own lighting system, air circulation/filtration (and a heater), programable positioning of the seat (with memory for different users' settings), and the whole thing rotates over time - (pre programed to rotate 120 degress over 8 hours to take advantage of sunlight... perfect if you actually have windows...)
Pricing starts at $8500 CDN (or about $5700 US) " It just
needs a coffee iv and a waste disposal system and you'd never
need to leave. If your boss loves you, he'll buy you one.
It doesn't have enough deskspace. I also don't like how far the deskspace is from the keyboard.

Isnt there something like this is a Dilbert comic? The Cubeorg 2000. It hooks up to different parts of your body to monitor your vital signs and such. it was funny in the cartoon

hmm... mix that with the $1800 chair I used to have at work and it would be even better =D
anyone who wants one of these needs to get out more and exercise. This is a couch potatoe's dream.
Oh, seats that know me, and adjust for my sister without forgetting how I like it would be nice, but the rest I can do without.
I think I'd get motion sick on one of these things.
why am I suddenly reminded of Dilbert's "Cuborg 2000"? "You don't want to get these two hoses mixed up."
The next Cmdr Taco duplicate will be ready soon, but subscribers can beat the rush and see it early!
I am nearsited and have long legs ( eaven for 6.2 ). I like a workstation that alows me to lean back and stretch them out and put the monitors in my face.
This dosn't look like it but it is customisable so I woldn't bet on that.
--= Isn't it surprising how badly I spell ?
Waste disposal anda coffee IV, sounds great.
Just dont get those hoses mixed up!
I started with nothing and I still have most of it.
Nah, I doubt you'd get motion sickness from one of those, but if you want some real vestibular stimulation, try the Symmetron.
there's a product that will handle this, it's called the Curvedspace Piss Pipe...

Have you seen Ironstayn vs Supergovernment yet?
"Perfect if you actually have windows" - Who else thinks that our good Cmdr should get a few lashes for not rewording that? ;)

an office with real windows that you can open and a fan to get genuine fresh air. Not practical in the summertime here in Atlanta, but a good idea for the fall, winter and spring. Might help alleviate "sick building syndrome". And to echo the sentiments of others, I'd rather have the cash.
For someone who works in the tech field, I find myself wanting more "analog" in my day to day life.

When she told me I was average, she was just being mean.
It looks like the neat toy everyone gets for Christmas but is soon collecting dust. There's just too much to break on this thing to make it useful in a real office. Plus the round-footprint design limits how many can be placed on the floor compared to rectangular cubes.
Check out Scott Adam's nightmare - the ;-)
ergocube 2000 as tested by Dilbert
Not for me thanks.

this is where the whole quandary of capitalism comes in. It seems readily apparent that no one would buy this thing as a practical matter. However, it wouldn't be there if there wasn't a market for it. Now, either this company's test marketing team was cracking smoke, or this proves that hardline capitalist notion wrong that no one "creates" a market, they just fullfill a market's needs.
Not enough room under the desk for my secretary. Some people never pay attention to detail.
On a serious note though, If it has it's own cooling system they should provide a way to connect it to your computer(s).

The only problem is to convince the boss thou...

Can someone lend me a hand? These things are heavy and I'm having problems fitting it all in my car... (I wish) hehe, looks awesome, but I think the chair should be tilted back more just a hair and monitors should be lifted just a little higher and angled down. From what the article says, this probably wouldn't be a problem.
Meept thinks that this is another example of the white man using technology for his own gain to the detriment of the native American " Indian "
MEEPT!!
I think that machine is based purely on bragging rights. Most of my computers dont have complete cases even. Ive got a brand new AMD k6-2 350 in a case with one screw and some pink foam holding it in, no slot covers, and the power switch is hanging out. I dont think people actually have windows anymore.
Ron, 2 words.... woo hoo
I'm going to try to convince work that these are a good thing...
Then I'll try to convince my wife that really, we can afford the $8500 CDN, so I can have one at home...
