    Angry Birds was ported to Blackberry 10 last year. In fact most of the popular iOS/Android games were ported last year. They are already there.

    Porting a smartphone app from any other platform to BB10 is minimal tweaks.
    Pretty much: old BBOS uses the same programming language as a dumbphone (Java SE).
    Porting a dumbphone (or BBOS) Java app to BB10 is hellishly hard! It's entirely different!

    - Yes there are models with a keyboard.
    - No, you cannot change the OS or bootloader. This is very locked down.
    - No, it doesn't have root access and no one has been able to get at it since v2.0. It doesn't come with terminal but you can install one. It comes with everything else.
    - No, they don't support add-ons, scripting or modding.
    - You can install your own software.
    - If you say Android treats you like an idiot, then I suppose this does too. You have full filesystem (other than root-only files) access all the way back to /, it's a unix system, you have samba access, you have uncompromised bluetooth transfer.
    - They will come with Snapdragon S4 processor, same as Windows Phone 8 devices. 1280x720 display is standard but the first device will be 1280x768. Keyboard model is 720x720.
    - It will have micro HDMI, micro USB, a micro SD card slot and a micro SIM slot for 4G. Same as the Dev Alpha devices.
    - It is not possible to replace OS/ bootloader and I doubt anyone will ever be able to.
    - It's probably going to be quite expensive. Worth the money depends on the person.

    It took from 2 days to 2 weeks for most of the apps to past QA.
    I have apps from the port-a-thon that still haven't gone through QA yet though.

    Their QA is very strict. Also, for the portathon you can't have apps that are too similar, apps that perform a single or simple function or apps that don't meet their quality checks. They don't even accept emulators.

    supl.nokia.com works fine. Don't know what you're talking about. All Nokia phones use the Nokia AGPS server.

    Even though USA has the highest average wage.

    Probably sarcasm but no one ever dubs in to Australian.

    And software that says 'en_AU' is actually just en_GB' renamed because any Australian specific words are unlikely to be used in software.

    You can easily get WiFi in your house and it is known you will need to transmit WiFi to receive it. Worst case scenario you can go to a coffee shop and get WiFi.
    But the 4G on the tablet won't receive the 4G that the local Telcos provide. If you want to use that 4G, you'll have no luck in Australia, Europe, Asia. You have to go to North America!

    Optus and Vodafone 4G networks are also incompatible. Also, future networks using analog TV bands will be incompatible.

    Uh, it's US which runs on different bands to the rest of the world.
    Europe and Asia are using Australia's bands.

    While Telstra is the only one with a 4G network right now, Optus is launching one in a month and Vodafone is soon to follow.

    I thought that sticker was added by Telstra. You only see that if you buy the iPad directly from Telstra. Any other retailer and you won't have a clue.

    Any phones sold as 4G in Australia are LTE phones.
    We don't have that problem that US has.
    Those phones you see like 'MyTouch 4G' or whatever actually have an entirely different name in EMEA and Australasia.

    Except the roads can handle it in this case. Australia telco offers 4G and more 4G options will be unveiled this year. None of them will work on iPad due to it being the wrong frequency band. Yet Apple still advertises it.
    Do you know of a case where a phone offers something it can't do in the region they sell it?

    The Aussie telcos can do 4G and they offer 4G. Telstra has every capital city covered and a few regional areas. That's probably the majority of the population.

    The 14.4Mbps that AT&T is claiming is 4G has existed in Australia since 2007 and has never been called 4G.
    Whereas that carrier now offers an LTE service which it does call 4G.
    People are being misled that the iPad will be able to go on to the 40Mbps LTE network but instead, it can only do DC-HSPA (42Mbps) which is more congested, higher pings and slower practical speeds.

    Did you ever think: Perhaps there's a reason they are saying this? No one else has ever claimed this.
    They also claim that you can run music just using the third processor and get 140 hours of playback (standard battery) or 10 hours of video playback.
    Considering there's 6 other DSP/IO cores on there, why would they have to use the third core for anything but idling?

    It seems the third core has better scaling on it afforded by not having higher scaling on it. Perhaps enabling lower voltage/clock levels than they could get on the 1.5GHz chips.

    I have an AverMedia HDTV card and it is 100% supported for absolutely everything. In fact most people on linux seem to have 100% support for their tv cards.
    What do you have trouble with? Just with the remote control?

    If you search the fermilab website for Frank Shoemaker you find 7 results.
    However, searching the website for F. C. Shoemaker finds 107 results because all his documents are posted as "F. C. Shoemaker".

    Correct? You worked out F and C were the other two symbols but F and C is undefined.

    Did you ever think it was: Shoemaker, F.C.?
    That is the initials Frank Shoemaker (mentioned in code)!
    In the website, using google, you will find only 7 occurances whereas you will find 107 occurances if you search for F. C. Shoemaker! Ding ding!
