I'm an album fan myself. Sad though I can't recall buying one in recent history where all the songs were good. Actually, I have not purchased a new album in several years because of this fact.
I got tired of getting burned by the record company putting maybe (if very lucky) two good songs on an album with the rest being absolute crap. I have a whole stack of them I can't even pawn-off on eBay for a penny. Crazy that one has to compile about 4 or 5 of a band's CD's just to have enough good songs to constitute an album. That is one of the many reasons the music industry no longer gets my money.
Something else that is sad, but humorous is say a modern band has released 4 albums and at another attempt at a money grab, they release a "best of"... which they can't even fill with enough songs and have to include new ones.
Remember when being in a band meant having to also be a musician? Or when the guy holding the guitar knew, well... how to actually play it? Oh yes, and being a lead singer meant being able to carry a note other than the now standard pre-pubescent whine? I'm not even going to start on about the lyrics now days... Enough with my rant.:)
I'm running XP 64 and I absolutely love it! I've been using it for about 2-years now. Used to take 40 minutes to decrypt/rip/burn a DVD, now it only takes 20. All my old and new programs/drivers work (with the exception of some really old logitech hardware).
Now thet I've tasted it, tested it, used it... never going back to 32-bit OS.
perhaps the current scenario is exactly what the computer thought would work/ or will work? Who knows how long they have been using it... perhaps it even predicted all the responses to this post already?
Completely agree. They should focus their efforts on making good/tolerable movies. I watched an old classic "Smokey and the Bandit" last night and wished Hollywood would bring back the magic of real stunts, etc... While some of the computer-animation is cool, it completely robs a movie of being "real". Today's movies remind me of maybe watching a video game with really good graphics. The technology is there, but not quite. I can detect it just enough to tell the actor is standing in front of a blank screen. That and crappy story lines (the stuff the movie industry will through money at is completely laughable) keeps me from the theatre and buying DVDs/CDs(music industry is in the same mess).
Thanks for the recommendation. I use http://www.clickinks.com/. Very inexpensive, especially with their by 2 get one free offers.
I like my Epson printer and always run the tanks completely dry (never use the recommended replacement point/low ink warning flag).
"But SOME of this information seems a bit excessive. Unless one plans to start banning specific pieces of hardware, but that's just evil."
I have a few friends that play in the stock market and have said for a long time that they bet Bill uses this information to buy/sell stocks and $$$. Think of the unbelievable wealth of information. Which hardware/software/etc... are folks buying and what are they not buying? etc... etc...
I completely agree and also have no intentions of ever getting Vista for home use. XP x64 works like a charm for me. The last two PC's I've built for friends have Ubuntu.
I don't see me ever having to worry about it at work either. The company (2500+ employees) is just now moving very slowly towards installing XP. IT says they are not impressed with Vista or Office 2007. They are still pissed about IE 7 breaking things. One IT fellow actually told me that the only reason we're not using Ubuntu/Linux is M$ Office.
I upgraded a few months ago to a Linksys WRT300n-wireless router (802.11n) from a 2-wire (802.11b). I have to say the transfer rates are amazing. My wife and I are able to exchange photos, music, and videos practically as fast as reading it directly off of the hard drive. What used to take minutes with 802.11b now takes seconds with 802.11n

Yes indeed, Go Ms. Lindor! Does anyone know if or how a fellow could donate to her cause?

I remember that one. Wasn't it called Autoeroticism? I think the multiplayer expansion arrived a few years later.
no Rapture for you!
my eyes and ears have been violated!
i made the mistake of shelving my commodore64 for girls, keg parties, and sports...
