>2007 - Al Gore for promoting environmental awareness? That's kind of the wrong category.
That depends on your perspective: within the next century or two climate change will likely be the single largest driver of warfare the world has ever seen. With flooding, drought, and famine striking simultaneously around the world things are going to get really ugly.
Still, I don't know that his sensationalist exploits in "raising awareness" should compare to people that actually get things done.
Then give it to Gore in 100 years or so. If we need to give it to Gore now, then let's also give it to the people who warned us about killer bees, overpopulation. and invaders from Mars.
No, that makes no sense. There are inherent risks in investing and the investors assume those risks. Stop creating yet another bureaucracy to manage the private companies that are too big to fail (and who is "too big to fail" anyway?). Just let them fail and lose their investment, then behaviors will change. Your approach continues to reward poor decision making.
And Pockets, don't forget to outlaw pockets! Poor Scottevest is now out of business, not only does he produce clothing with lots of pockets, he supports concealed carry. God bless Scott Jordan.
Thanks you for calling that BS what it was. I also learned all on my own with some books and self-purchased tools. And yes, the bias against white males is universal. I for one do not think we need to do some special programs to get more female programmers, hispanic managers, black quarterbacks, or white male hairdressers. I do think we need the best people in every area, need to level the opportunity field but not the results field (which always goes to the lowest point), and treat everybody with respect and fairness.
We have a lot of messy laws. I am trying to figure out how abortion is legal but if a person causes the death of a fetus in a car accident, etc. they can be charged with man slaughter.
But to be representative of the analogy, you have to add that you as the third party signed an agreement and swore under oath that certain information would be given to you that you would keep secret and not divulge to others, including information you do not agree with like the fact that the other party is cheating on his wife. You can go ahead and break that oath and agreement, and you may or may not be wrong, but you are certainly in play for legal action for breaking such an agreement.
Or even a bit more. Barak photocopies the diary as described and sets it out for all to see, and it has a lock and key, but not a very good one. And nobody except for Barak and a select few have a key. There is little accountability into when the key will be used, it could be a curious person who likes to feel power; or if they want to make it official, they go and see a FISA judge who is quick to agree, since he is part of the overall system fighting the enemy. A few months later Barak notes that a terrorist has popped up on the radar, and in the interest of national security he reads Michelle's diary from cover to cover. There is nothing in there about the terrorist, but he does note that she has a very close relationship with the gardner.
They turned the display of the twitter feed off on their page; it was filled with comments saying they stole the work and they were unethical. But you can still enjoy the hate here: https://twitter.com/search?q=AdeccoUSA&src=typd
May sound silly, but if it supported a bluetooth mouse (I do not jailbreak but know I could and get this) I could use it much more effectively in two ways - easier to select text for copy/paste type operations, and when connected via RDP or VNC to another box I could have the full experience of that box. I would still use my iPad 90% of the time for browsing, email, etc. But if it had this and I added a BT keyboard it would get a lot more use.
It sounds like the list is pretty succinct and even I can understand it. FAT32 (which MS developed) ActiveSync, etc, Once again, if they could code around it, they would, right? I mean, why not?
If Google could "single handily invalidate all of their obvious, worthless and prior art ridden patents one by one" and just charged $5 for the Android license every Mfg would save $3 per device. So why not just do it? It's money on the table for the whole ecosystem. Maybe they can't do it as easily as you think.
Maybe my idiot factor is high today, but what are yous saying? if the "entire Android community could then try to code around this kind of larceny and extortion." then they should get going, because the fees from the patents are already in place. What are they waiting for?
Unless you have a badge and a siren please do not think you are enforcing the rules of the road. Please, for the sake of your own safety, and ours, just stop it.
You may be showing some sarcasm, but in case you are not, generally accepted conventions are that you pass to the left and then return to the right lane, or at least not stay in the left lane and camp out. Yes your tax dollars helped pay for the road along with the rest of us, so we all need to follow some guidelines for safe use. It is unsafe for you to drive slower than expected in any situation, as cars will run up on you, get frustrated and try to cut you off going around you. They are also unsafe, but your habits provoked that. We just had some people killed here recently on a highway for that situation.
How can payments over a three year period on the patents alone, from one infringer no less, be worth more than the company was valued? We need more judges like these that just use common sense.
Because of the slight of hand and then confrontation, I would think it is more like people just rationalize the circumstances and then seek to defend the supposed position they took (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rationalization_(making_excuses)) I also wonder if the researcher had any white lab coat, etc. that made them seem more authoritative?
We've seen this script before. The private equity firm forces the company to take out huge loans, which are then paid to the equity firm as consulting and management fees, and bonuses. Dell's largest operating cost becomes servicing the debt, which means everything else gets cut -- product research, product quality, staff, salaries. The market quickly realizes that Dell products have become shit(tier), and customers flee.
Four years later, the equity firm is several hundred million dollars richer, Dell goes bankrupt and is liquidated, and thousands of former Dell employees are out of work.
Where have you seen this before? I am interested in reading more.

You must be as stupid as you sound, since the touchpad settings easily fix the complaint you make.
Thanks for your awesome reply; the myopic people on here are really becoming a bore.

I do not think that has been possible because of the UEFI. http://news.softpedia.com/news/Linux-on-a-Microsoft-Surface-Tablet-Is-Nearly-Impossible-318152.shtml

Hopefully these disclosures will remind everyone that the reason we have a national security apparatus is to protect our liberty.
Best comment here...by far.
I love virgin forests, it gives me wood

Good ol' chat.

What I do not see is an actual change of opinion.
I suspect all three Ubuntu desktop users will not have any issues with the transition.
