The wise men had leverage over the king because they could order the public exploder (who I played) to blow him up if he did anything they didn't like, but once he "became a corporation" their plots were foiled, since you can't very easily blow up a corporation.

Computers are much better than consoles for games...
At least for MMOs, RTSs, and arguably FPSs (look at Halo for computer and for XBOX- the computer version is much better)
people are comparing his statement to things like printers and consoles, saying that those things are products even if you dont get paper or games with them
A better analogy would be comparing it to buying a house that doesn't have running water or electricity. It's still a house, sure, but you can't do much with it! Would you rather buy a house whcih comes with running water and electricity pre-installed, or one without, and pay to have the pipes and circuits put in in a "superior" arangement?
erm, I'm willing to bet that the % of the WoW playerbase running on macs is very low. Even though it's almost the only MMO for Macs, most gamers use windows boxes because Windows is much better for gaming (Mac is certainly better at other things). Many of my mac-loving friends also have windows boxes which they use for gaming.
I'm not sure why people are going on such an anti-Gates rampage, at least in certain respects. People are complaining about him being greedy? He's one of the biggest philanthropists out there! I even saw a comment marked 5 for funny in which a comment was made about burning environmentalists. Microsoft is one of the greenest companies out there, and there was even a/. article a couple days ago showing how Microsoft could potentially be THE greenest company out there.

anywho, Macs don't have any advantage in the field of programming, seeing as C# is fairly popular today, which is written with Microsoft's Visual Studio.
Also, when it comes to video editing or music mixing, macs only have an advantage in basic amateur jobs. If you want to do anything serious, you'll want a windows computer

The author had some good (although obvious) points. I couldn't NOT agree with him up until the windows/mac bit. Windows is showing a LOT more style with vista it seems. The apple commercials are painfully...untrue, even to many Mac lovers.
And if the ipod drives Mac sales up know what itll mean? People might care about macs and start creating viruses for them! So is the ipod the windows killer or the mac killer?

also in order to buy stuff off itunes you have to use itunes. Which means you have to like itunes. Which is not a very great program for listening to music currently.

The average teenager doesn't randomly get things bought for them by their parents. That's what the "fag and alco" money is for. Responsible parents make their kids learn the value of money by making them save.
