Hidden ballot voting systems beg for corruption.
Open voting is the best way to deal with this. It's as simple as "everybody who votes for Johnny raise their hand."
The Apple II's that we used in high school required a boot disk which is why I never used them. Perhaps they started adding interpreter roms after that? ~ 1985
1. "Do you plan on protesting outside of GE and Ford?"
Yes, I'm looking into building a Tabby (https://www.osvehicle.com/tabby-info/) and live off-grid. Corporations, for the most part, are evil and should be shunned from our society.
2a. "Do you realize that the NSA is actually not the same as Apple?"
You mean NSA doesn't stand for "Naturally Sweetened Apples"?
2b....no company has made more of a stand against the NSA than Apple
Really? I'll bet that their "stand" has more to do with protecting profits than people? Do you work for Apple?
3. Self explanatory (this is the 21st century).
4. "..political party--pick the product you want, you don't need to march on Washington.."
Dude, it's a battery. Relax. Some of us don't want to have to send our phone back to the manufacturer to change the battery. Has nothing to do with politics. And no, I don't own an Iphone. I don't want one. For reasons already stated.
5. Ditto.
6. "It's not actually true because the TRS-80 did require a boot disk."
Your ignorance is astounding. Obviously you didn't own one.
Here is the screen that you appeared when you turned the machine on WITHOUT a boot disk:
1. Proprietary Software/Closed Source
2. NSA Spying
3. Corporate Spying
4. Cannot (easily) change battery on IPhone
5. Proprietary power/data cables on IPhone
6. In the 80's, unlike my TRS-80, Apple computers required a boot disk just to fire up.
7. Steve Jobs is a weiner (Wozniak, by comparison, is a minor deity).
One should always question whether or not major events are false-flag operations in the 21st century. They are at the heart of the so-called "war on terror". Look at the 7/7 bombings in the UK and Peter Powers, for example.
I loved Gmail when it first came out. The best things, IMHO, are the ability to store large volumes of email and easily search them.
Google, I now believe, is evil; like many of the top tech companies (Micro$oft, Cisco, etc.) who are in bed with the NSA. I simply don't trust them. They lie.
Their motto is "don't be evil" - not "we're not evil". Don't be fooled!
I'd love to find a decent email provider to replace them.
...This smells like false-flag propaganda designed to incite more hatred of the Muslim and Arabic peoples and draw Canada into another BS war in the middle east.
This whole thing reeks.
Peace.
Considering that the American prison system is now privatized this is quite scary, because "Prison, Inc." makes money by incarcerating people. If there is a shortage of prisoners...
Claiming that biofeedback is a "relaxation technique" or can be a technique to make people "anxious" is somewhat erroneous.
Biofeedback is a method of scientific measure. Utilizing biofeedback to assist with relaxation or to induce anxiety would be the result of applying the knowledge gathered by biofeedback to assist in achieving the desired outcome; not the result of biofeedback itself.
However, I would say that in this case the results are being achieved through feeding back the biofeedback.
It may sound obvious, but staging that many devices requires some organization.
Simple things, such as one pile (table/area) for unstaged devices; one table for staged devices and one for problem devices.
If you are required to document the process (most likely you are) - serial numbers, user assignments, etc - then the help of a USB bar code scanner and a spreadsheet can really help. If you don't have a bar code scanner then a good magnifying glass may prove itself quite useful.
A mobile internet connection, a good power bar or two (or more), extension cord and a set of PC tools is recommended.
And always be sure to ask for the latest version of documentation! I can't count how many times the documentation was outdated on projects... even when sent the day before... double check the version. It could save you hours of frustration.
Make sure that you have a support number or resource in case things go awry.
I don't know the details of your project; i'm just going from personal experience setting up large amounts of equipment.
I always found that grading could be improved in schools, and that grades should not be the only measure of a student's ability to learn.
In high school I skipped a lot of classes. I was just a kid out having fun. But I was also good at academics. I would score 100% on every computer programming test; top of my class, even though I would only show up once a week.
Yet, when it came to grades I would get a 75 or 85% because of attendance. Otherwise my grade would be 100%.
I do not believe that is fair at all. If schools gave a separate mark for attendance, sure I would have accepted the big 'F' for epic fail.
But regardless of whether or not I attended class the fact is that I knew the subject inside out. Other classes were like that also.
Creativity is not measured in school either, and should be.
I believe that college applications should be more about the student's sincere desire to learn than anything else.

Facebook and Tor are mutually exclusive!
My curiousity peaks when I hear 'ad-free'. And.. something other than Facebook - anything, really, is a really, really, good idea.

No. The obvious has already been stated.

7. what is it with wannabe nerds and their geek-hero worship?
Sorry, this is Slashdot. Maybe you should head over here instead. I hear Goofy is pretty lonely these days.

Is this moon landing supposed to be real?
Stanley Kubrick is no longer alive.

Above all, robost software!
The word "crash" becomes doubly important in this case.

This is truly great!
If only our daily "news" was filled with more with these types of stories than the typical FUD and propaganda perpetuated by these organizations.

Well, you do the math.
The NSA refers to its own "Hacker Units" as TAO, or "Tailored Access Operations".
TAO is also a Chinese word that means "the Way".
Stealing a movie or album would mean physically taking it and leaving the original owner without it.
Downloading is essentially copying; in which case it is copyright infringement - not theft.
Do you mean Microsoft?
I wonder how many other adobe applications are reporting back? Photoshop? Flash?

Perhaps (in time) a flux capacitor after market add-on could be installed to prevent drivers from exceeding 88 mph.
National Crime Agency? Hahahahaha.. breathe.. hahahahhaha
Native Americans might argue that. And they would have a point.

I never put much merit to the saying "never trust a person with glasses". That could change.
