1) It is so easy it even tells you where on the line to write stuff, its practically fill-in-the-blank coding. 2) A little digging will find Fortran implementations online free. 3) Doesn't everyone have some an old mainframe in the basement that they are tired of paying that expensive consultant to maintain? 4) Knowing Fortran, you'll never want to go back - gimme some C++, Python, Java, and Perl...
Integrate Konqueror and Mozilla???? Why? Why not just pick one and stick with it?
I can understand wanting to integrate two dissimiler programs to get a synergistic uberdevice, but this is like combining two toaster to...toast the same amount of bread.
So she loads OpenOffice, opens her file, saves as to a floppy in linux too? Did she learn how to mount/mnt/floppy or does she use a desktop click-and-mount gizmo of some sort?
I'd dearly love to move my mothers machine over to a lightweight linux install - it is currently running an *original* windows 95OSR2 install...
Well it isn't the bringers of the suits, as it says in the article one of the two guys is a patent attorney and is doing things himself, so unless he is billing himself...
Of course if there are any countersuits things could get dicey.
Good thing they don't have to run the film back to Earth to be developed.:)
What I would like to see out of this is someone taking a set of these photos, along with time/position data and making some spiffy 3D models of the lander enviroment.
Haven't you've seen that old archival footage of the horrors that terrorist Wil E. Coyote was able to get up to before we had NASA keeping the rocket scientists out of ACME Corporation???
If you are smart you will hook it up with the monitor cable, thus being able to play the games...and if you want to use the ps2-linux stuff, you run Xvnc...voila, high resolution desktop via your ethernet card!
I began by watching TV in a little window on my desktop...and now I'm scrambling to find a comp with decent CPU to run MythTV on so I can do the PVR thing - sadly my old box doesn't quite have the horsepower to do the encoding.
Go read the Silmarillion (read: The Creation And The Screwing Up Royally Thereof, With Lots and Lots and Lots of Elves), and then once you finish that you can dive into Tolkein's unfinished tales (edited by his son).
More than you ever wanted to know about Middle-Earth:)
Well obviously - Sauron is just the trumped up lieutenant of Melkor, who got his shoddy backside kicked into the void. Cthulhu on the other hand is a freakin god, Sauron is more of an angel/demon/demigod sort.
hey, i've used emacs, and i like it. and you're wrong in your implication here...
emacs does just one thing...it breeds more emacsen.
everything else is adjunct to that single primordial urge of survival - if it can edit your text or surf the web or calculate pi or play life or compile code so much the better to tempt you to make a copy of your own.
Get yer bug fixes here...mind the crates of new bugs. Don't worry about them, next week we're going to be showing you adds for new Electronic Off! Bug Repellent Spray...(once the bugs in the firmware patch have had time to incubate dontcha know)

Mmmmm Ion. If only it didn't play so poorly with KDevelop and similar lots-of-dynamic-window apps.
I switch between WindowMaker for my dynamic-window-app stuff (like KDevelop) and Ion for my many-consoles-open-at-once system gruntwork.

You haven't been taken in by Darl's delusions have you?

Yeah the slashdotting wears off...but what about the scars?
Forgot to mention that I use Mozilla Firebird and I got through to your site just fine.
Don't mind the slashdotters, pretty sure most of them are crazy.
Mind you, so am I, so who knows...

But one day! One day soon!
Well, yes actually. I do see the FNORDS.
Do you?

Of course the EU is full of first-world highly industrialized nations.
I think he was shooting for #22 - Empty.
hmm...special program to save it out in this nifty neato binary raster format...hmmm...
paint?
xml grows like a weed, whats next? XML-infected RAM?
Brilliant! I'm laughing like a deranged hyena!!
nano rules!
It's been a while since I was a physics major...but everything is physics if you look it.
chemistry, biology, geology, sociology, etc
Well, except maybe math, but physics is just applied math anyway. Math of course being theoretical physics.
People keep running around making wacky theories paying no attention to the energy fields we are all made of.
From a certain point of view.
