The technology is not to heed the bit, but to hide and obfuscate so the owner of the machine cannot just flip the bit back as they desire and record !

It already has impacted the OS market...Microsoft has had to promise to keep XP alive to serve the "Netbook" market. They cannot conceed this segment to Linux without a fight and Vista will never run on these little puppies. -Jay
People there I met knew people whose job it is to find and block the offensive sites. One figure I heard is 50,000 devoted to searching for bad sites (blogs also) and blocking. -Jay
I also bought a Cowon with line in input. I am going to build my own tiny mic box with a pre amp to gain the signal up to line level. 40 dB should do it and there are lots of ultra low noise op amps. -Jay
The article says it was many multiplexed streams. So for each stream you buy the hottest telecommunication gear (like Agilent stuff or perhaps NTT makes their own) that spits out a stream of pseudo random bits. They dont used hard drives full of video or such. Then you examine the "eye" pattern for closing indicating noise or errors. -Jay
I switched to Linux because of the loss of Microsoft support. You might argue I am not a typical user, but I converted my home network from 2 windows and 2 linux boxes to 1 (XP) and 3 Linux boxes.
These days a loss of security hole patches & updates in a MS OS is fatal.
Found Mepis, and now have it in various flavors. I like it so much, I got a 6 month subscription to support them.
Only a few tasks to replace and I can either rid my self of the support nightmare of XP.
Not just 98/Me defectors, but people like me, who look at the warts of Vista, no way!
Look at that price ! The DRM, the inflated hardware recommendations....
Mepis , DSL, 'buntus all look attractive.

Orientate is a word, it means to turn towards the east.
It does not mean as commonly confused with orient, meaning to aligh or get your bearings.

On my fast machine (2 gig ram dual boot), xubuntu boots faster than Win XP.
The desktop environment makes a big difference.

I have searched from within China. No tibet.org.
I could get slashdot.org.

The irony of this name will surely come to bite M$.
When people find out it does not, the DRM gremlins will turn people against it.
