You send the employee on the pretext of attending meetings and planning sessions (B1 is not a visitor visa it is a business visa)
Typically the employee has a printed schedule of topics he is going to discuss and people he is going to meet over the next three months
Sometimes it is the same topic that he has to discuss individually with over 2 dozen stakeholders as per their convinence
This gives him a pretext for being in USA for upto 3 months
If additional time is required the employee on completion of three months will fly to a neighboring country (Mexico/Canada) spend a week there and then comeback on a renewed business visa to have further follow up meetings
The reasons companies do this is.
It is cheaper than H1 (You pay per-diem instead of a US salary)
There are no limits for a B1 Visa.
Low waiting time for approval. H1-B takes months where as B1 is available within a week or two
It is easier to get. All you need is a letter from the US Office stating that they are inviting you for a business meeting and will be taking care of your food and boarding. Not documentation required to show their best-case effort for hiring locally etc.
No Risk of employee flight: A Person immigrating to US on H1-B has the freedom to apply for jobs at other compaines. A person on B1 cannot do this
And if you think that only Infosys is doing this Wake up. Each and everyone of the fortune 500 companies with a branch in India has been doing this for over a decade now.

Kids stealing Parents data.. Hmm Identity theft..... Simple solution
Do not tell your kid any of the following
1. Your Birth Date
2. Your Wife's/Kids Birthday (You were born that's enough why do you want to know when)
3. Your mothers name. (Just call her grandma Ok.)
4. Your Postal address zip code etc. (This is home... that is school... you walk from here to there...)
5. Any of your family history.
6. Anything else?
Similar stuff happened in my campus:) Student had access to all the labs throughout the night and some mornings we would find equipment missing.
1. We had someone walking out with a few sun workstations
2. All the hard disks from one lab went missing one fine morning.
This was with posted guards on all entrance/exits.
My phone buying experience a few months ago was exactly opposite. I went to the shop to by a galaxy Y and the salesman spent nearly an hour trying to convince me to by a much more expensive Nokia Feature phone
Comparing apples and Oranges here....
A degree from MIT, Berkeley or Stanford is not the same as an equivalent named degree from a community college.
Indians have the following Option's for Higher Education.
1. Get a scholarship seat at Central Institutes a.k.a free seat (The competition is extremely High e.g. MDS in AIIMS has 15000+ people competing for 2 or 3 seats)
2. Get a scholarship seat at State college or private Institutes (The number of people competing is in the same ballpark the number of seats are around 20)
3. Get your degree in some Institute abroad (UK, US, Australia & NZ are currently the hot destinations. This is considered to be the easiest option and is typically the response of the Upper class when they cannot compete in #1 & #2 and in some cases this is cheaper than #5)
4. Get a non-scholarship seat at one of the private Institute.
5. Get your degree in a private institute by paying a huge donation (a.k.a Management Quota)
Typically if you have outsources your "Low skill high effort" work you are working with someone from Category 4 & 5 who could not get work in the "High skill" sector.
So If I have committed a year of my life till today working with various investors for republishing these works. Should I be punished with the destruction of my business model? Based on the RIAA accounting scheme every 4 minutes(approx duration of a song) of my life amount to $22000.
With this decision, Someone now owe's me $2.89 *10^9
Transmission lines in the national electricity grid here (India) consist of steel core for strength with an outer aluminum layer for conductivity.
This solution has been in place from the time electrification started in India.
Civil society in India agitating against corruption in 2011 made use of social networking and SMS's to mobilize large crowd Janlokpal
The party in power has been attacking every communication medium used by the agitators since. Sending of bulk SMS's was prohibited immediately after their agitation in august/Sept SMS. Phone network was down in mumbai during their protest meet in December. Their Facebook page was removed in Sept/Oct.
At a particular time during the August agitation the government was virtually under siege in Dehli with peaceful protesters turning up in front of the parliament and parliamentarian's house in large number. Requiring the government to shut down train stops and bus services to prevent protesters from gathering at the hotspots.
The attack against Facebook, Orkut, SMS etc. is the response of the party in power. They are attacking the communication medium used by protesters under one pretext or other.
I am in India and have a few friends and relatives working in USA.
My observation is that in US employees consider taking long vacations to be equivalent to proving to their employer that they are not critical to the business and work can go on without them. There have been cases where when the time for layoff's came the priority list consisted of all the employees on long vacations or scheduled to take long vacations.
With employees Not taking vacations and leaves accumulating HR policies have changes in the last decade to have a fixed upper bound on the number of leaves ( I know of a few cases where people nearing retirement took year long paid vacations due to the number of accumulated leaves).
Any musician that I have been exposed to in the past few years was through jamendo. I typically browse to the category of music I am interested in listening to and then randomly play a few albums until I find something that I like.
The publicity given by the record label has certainly not reached me
They came for the Iraq'ees and I said nothing for I was not an Iraq'ee
They came for the Afghanies and I said nothing for I was not an Afghani
They came for the Pakies and I said nothing for I was not an Paki
Then they came for me
First, I should state that it's really not about the language, it's about the coder. You can build great and crappy things with any language. And every language has it's warts.
That said, the best language I've used in the past 20 years of programming has got to be Modern Perl. Not the chicken scratch Perl you saw 5 or 10 years ago, but Modern Perl. Here are some of the strengths of modern Perl:
{SNIP}
And so much more. Do yourself a favor and at least have a look at Perl.
In have been working with Perl5 for the past decade.... What exactly is Modern Perl? Is it perl6?
Is perl6 out yet? How easy is deployment to unix and windows machines?
For windows can I provide a self contained Executable or do I need to provide a list of instructions on how to install perl, how to download from cpan etc?
How is the support on the shared accounts renting for $5/m? Does the default perl installation bundle all the modules you have mentioned?
It has been speculated for a long time (I have been hearing it atleast since 2007) That Atom will match the power consumption of ARM in 2012 timeframe. The world (and Intel) knew for a long time that the platform for next generation computing is handheld devices. Intel required time for course correction to intersect this reality and the above data Indicates that the intersection is happening at the tipping point when the entire world is going gaga over smartphones and tablets. It is inevitable that either Medfield or some future architecture will achieve parity with ARM.
The question today should be what does the Industry want?
For an ARM based architecture I have today SoC's from TI, Nvidia, Qualcomm, Samsung, BRCM etc. Do I want the PC era wintel monopoly for the tablet era?
The refrain till recently was that the wintel monopoly will succeed in the mobile era due to the portability of the application built for X86 architecture on windows platform. In todays world of google marketplace and apple appstore I am not sure to what extend this argument holds true.
It is equally difficult Running Linux on an Old box. My Machine at home is a Cyrix 133Mhz(Or is it 233Mhz?) Machine The last time I installed Linux on it It became horribly sloooooow. The reason? The distro I had used had binaries compiled for the latest and greatest pentium architecture. I investigated downloading and compiling the source. But when told that on a 1Ghz machine the build took more than two days. I quitely switched back to Win98.

With atleast 33% of every program slot consisting of ads, I would prefer shifting to online ad-free service as soon as possible.

Makes sense since If google breaks the laws in certain countries. Then google employees in that country are subject to criminal investigation....
