    By yesterday, Microsoft made more money on Vista than OSX has in its entire lifespan.

    Sun's handling of Java gave Microsoft enough time to make .NET a killer platform, especially for Web apps.

    It's a bit of time that I hear some execs (not all thb) state that keeping investments in proprietary & closed source software (clearly referring to Microsoft's ones) will take good money overseas, which is in any case a loss for the european economy.

    First, from TFA:
    The Commission had ordered the software giant to open up its code to help rival's server software to be fully compatible with Windows.

    EUC never ordered this.
    EUC ordered to provide full documentation to the specifics (APIs) at a RAND price.

    Second, my though:
    I never doubted M$ would interfere with EUC ruling. I can't remember once where they've played nice.
