No. Only in some romanticized version of the past.
I remember getting my windshields washed and oil checked at the full-serve gas station... You have to go to Japan to get that now. Not very romantic, but there's a perfect reference.
LOL, thanks for that, I needed a laugh. I'm going to break into that office building next door and turn off all the monitors tonight. Just doing my bit, you now?
Is it reliable (as in stable)? Sure. I have yet to have Vista bomb out on me that wasn't due to a buggy 3rd party driver
That is a distinction without a difference. If you need those drivers to run Vista on your PC, then Vista has a problem. Users should not have to care who writes the drivers, unless you have some esoteric and unusual hardware in your PC.
Hey, I'm not trying to stir it up here, but I'm confused. Serious question here. Why is it Vista's fault if the hardware manufacturer releases crappy drivers, regardless of the nature of the hardware? Driver signing?
Ya, what gets me here is that the Dickweed that did this could have killed someone by disrupting 911. Is it me, or does it seem like the sociopaths are becoming more and more apparent these days?
Hey look, another Ask Slashdot that should have been Ask Google! Wow! You never see those on here or anything. Maybe this could have been an Ask Freshmeat if they still want a solution from OSDN.
Boooooo. It's not a rumour, you do suck. Perhaps you should stop pissing in your Cheerios every morning and realize that perhaps he wanted a professional or experienced opinion.
What they're doing seems mundane until you think of the scale of things that have to happen right for this experiment to be successful. I'll be watching this....
Agreed. Plus, GPS devices should be outlawed -- terrorists could use them to navigate in lieu of maps.
Actually, history books, almanacs, encyclopedias, these all tell terrorists what we care about. Those should be outlawed too. Plus the internet, which allows them to communicate, and possibly phones, the mail system, UPS, FedEx and other courier services.
Then maybe we can finally feel safe!
We need to encrypt braille and morse code as well. Man, this Anti-Terror stuff's a bitch! Now I know what Bush was talking about.
And I'll bet there's no real common denominator for where they came from, right? We waited an extra 3 weeks for an French engineer to get his immigration papers in order to start work. He certainly fit the bill, but we paid extra to get him here and house him while he got settled. We would have LOVED to hire local talent, but nobody met the criteria.... Same as you?
Is it any different than finding an unlocked car in the parking lot and opening the door, pushing the door lock, closing the door, and continuing on your merry way?
I like to do this when I find a car sitting outside a gas station still running.
OMFG I laughed so loud when I read that that I startled everyone else in the office.

Must have been a Duke Nukem player.
I have a legal copy of 3.0..... Not sure if it even did layers then.
gotcha.
Your point is that he's wasting your time? You probably shouldn't have replied then. My boo stands.

TY
The difference is that the judge will actually listen to his argument, instead of dismissing a caricature of his argument.
Sorry, but what does a caricature of his argument mean?

I'm sure Adam & Jamie could figure out a way to burn something.....

And you are? What if he owned a hardware store? Would that count?
Nah, it'd be some 10 year old who did it for a $20 or something.
And there he is folks.....
F.Y.I, It's now Immoral to pirate software.....
Oh well, eventually every pot gets a crack....

Better start hitting the gym, cause those suckers are heavy!
There's always hydrogen. It's efficient, simple, and the technology is already worked out.
You'd better tell Ballard that...
Protect the children!"
Protecting my children is MY job.
Can't figure why... I mean, it's not like he has anything to hide, right?
I'll be waiting.... gimme a couple days notice and I'll start icing the Keg. I'm sure the troops are thirsty.

I know... It sounded like my sister talking about how she uploaded a new program on her pc and got "one of those virus things."
