Sorry if this was posted before but the second game will have some pretty big changes when it comes to the player's character. Some people are calling it "Mass Effectication" or Dragon Effect. In Dragon Age 2 you play as a set character named "Hawke". http://dragonage.bioware.com/# . It's currently at the top page under "Dragon Age 2 announced"
You can only play as a human, too: http://social.bioware.com/forum/1/topic/141/index/3052334/1#3052434
So, people are comparing this to Mass Effect's Commander Shepard. Personally, I don't care for it. It woks in Mass Effect 2, but Dragon Age was an entirely different beast altogether. I'd like those two IPs to be as far apart as possible. I'm not going to completely pass judgment, but from what ha been announced, I really don't care for what I read. Some people call it a "superficial" to determine your character's race, but I think it breaks the fantasy of a game when in a world filled with Elves and Dwarves and other stuff, you can only be a human. Especially after the first game established that you can choose your race. Had they only allowed you to be human in the first game, then this would have been a non-issue for me (aside the fact that we play as this pre-determined "Hawke" character).
You're supposed to blow into it not fart into it! No wonder your Nintendo has problems!
Nintendo invented the first mini-game in my book - the mini-game of getting the blasted NES to work!
It looks pretty swell if you ask me. It's just snippets of ghost catching (and the occasional sliming) gameplay, but I'm sure there'll be a whole lot more. What is shown looks promising. Next-gen ghost catching never looked so sweet. There's also a main site up for the game already.
I like Sci-Fi RPGs more than fantasy ones because of the settings. Though I prefer cyberpunk over everything. There are a few good sci-fi RPGs out there, but I think people like sci-fi less is because we, as players, ask a lot more questions while playing them and often don't find the answers.
For example: If a Mage casts a magic fireball against the goblin. That's it. We know it's magic and it made that enemy dead somehow. How? Who gives a damn -- it's MAGIC! However, if a techno-wizard using a Mako THX1138 Mag Rail Rifle to kill a cyber-enhanced stim junky, then we ask: "Well, how is that rifle powered? Who made it? What sort of round blew a hole six inches wide in that guy? What purpose does that piece of cybernetic hardware that's on his crotch have?" ect.
That's where the line for good sci-fi and bad sci-fi is drawn. A good sci-fi game (or otherwise) would explain just about everything. A bad sci-fi game (or otherwise) wouldn't bother. Not to leave it up to the player's imagination, though sometimes that is the case, they are just being lazy. Kind of like this post, because I didn't explain anything about the Mako THX1138 Mag Rail Rifle or what the cybernetically enhanced crotch is for.
Yeah, +3 Str Implant would seem meaningless compared to +5 Gauntlets of Unrelenting Manliness but Longsword +2 seems rather crap compared to the Mako manufactured THX1183 Mag Rail Rifle, wouldn't you agree?
Actually, I want to correct you on something. The article is misleading in that respect. When the guy says "memory card ports" he means the Compact Flash and SD card readers that come with the Playstation 3. To use Playstation 1/2 memory cards you have to buy an adaptor. It's really a must-have if you use your PS3 for backwards compatibility as well as playing PS3 games.

Yeah, this guy sure will make a good defense for his contempt hearing. Acting like a whiney, 14 year old and all. Hell, he should play this game more often. With his maturity level, I'm sure he'll be able to connect with the characters in this game quite easily. But perhaps a game like Barney's Hide and Seek would better suit his maturity level?
Might be a bit off-topic, but I noticed many of you still bring up that crashing "issue" from that article posted a few days ago. A UK-based PS3 magazine, PSM3, was given a Playstation 3 to play with for a day. Here are the links of the write-ups:
They talk about impressions, heating, noice output and stuff like that. Given that it's a Playstation magazine site, it is a pretty insightful read on how the final PS3 models will, hopefully, work. Hopefully it can put to rest some FUD and shine some light on the PS3 and reveal the fingerprints of truth. (And yes, apparently it gets dirty much like the PSP. Ick.)

It seems like PS3 users will be able to chat with the PC community through Xfire. May not seem much compared to your idea, but it's a start.
