A murderer won't be extradited unless it is guaranteed he won't get the death penalty. This is a crime that would be treated in Canada as a summary offence which is a lot closer to a misdemeanor. No right to a jury and usually provincial time or in the case of this minor crime, a small fine.

I have seen in the local paper where the police have busted someone for commercial copying software. Someone was recently sentenced to jail for taking a camcorder to a movie. The courts have interpreted making available completely the opposite of the American courts and it is legal to make personal copies of music, even if you don't own it. And there is no DMCA. I think it is just America trying to pressure our current pro-American government to make crazy laws taking away our freedoms as usual. As for terraforming Mars, Venus is a better bet. Gravity is similar, it's inside the temperate zone and it's atmosphere has the makings of water.

This way the age of consent can be low (14 yrs until very recent) so when the 19 yr old goes with a 15 yr old at a party on the 15 yr old advance there is no crime. On the flip side if you are in a position of authority over an underaged person and have sex with them you are pretty much guilty.
Why shouldn't you be able to do whatever you want with your bought full version copy besides distribute it? I can see limiting upgrades to upgrading previous versions that you own.
