  1. Re:Its just criminals on Proposal for UK Prisoners to be Given RFID Implants · · Score: 1

Well here in Canada there are quite a few limits on advertising tobacco and alcohol products, just have to extend this to other drugs.
And as for growing a bit, once again have it just like alcohol. Here you are allowed to brew X amount of beer and make X amount of wine. Should be the same with pot, only allowed to grow a few plants at a time.
This has the added benefit of reducing the black market which is where most of the problems with drugs come from.
Also note that under the current system it is way easier for kids to get the illegal drugs then the legal ones (excepting coffee).

I think that most people when talking about legalizing drugs mean legalize in the sense that alcohol and tobacco are legal. eg age limits, limits on operating heavy machinery like cars etc.

Of course licenses like the GPL allow the copyright holder to do what ever they want with the code. I've personally asked authors of GPL works to relicense their work (source code was lost and I wanted to redistribute) and they have.
Besides would it really matter very much if Linux ver 1.0 was now in the public domain?
GPL works like all other works are built on preexisting ideas and sometimes code that was freely licensed or not even licensed (public domain) and then tied up with copyright and restrictive licenses so that copyright should run out in a decent time interval.

I disagree - those murderers put to death are *guaranteed* not to hurt anyone else ever again, in prison or society. As regards preventative value, I'll defer to those who have studied it in detail, but for the individuals put to death, it's most definitely effective at preventing recidivism. Unluckily often the person put to death is the wrong one and the real murderer is free to murder again.

In a different article someone mentioned how they clicked it at work and were really worried about being fired for browsing goatse. This is one of the best examples of trolling I have come across.
