You think you could finally get away from x86 after being nearly nuked into oblivion. You would probably still recreate it, just because so much software was written on it that would probably still exist. If you wanted an x86 free world, you would not only have to destroy all the hardware, but all the software as well. At best, you might finally Finish the transition to x64

Skip the F-22, and some day the US might find itself going up with F-15s against Typhoons, and that's a bloody dangerous thing to be doing.

That is the very reason the F-35 is set to become the most produced jet fighter. Better than everything but the F-22 but not quite as expensive.

There is no way spore is going to live up to the hype they keep generating. Even if it is a moderate financial success people will view it as a failure because of expectations. as far as procedural programming is all bull, they're franticly animating to fix the impossible procedural animation system. My prediction is that it will be delayed and be a disappointment to anyone who is expecting the greatest game ever.

The technology is within our grasp now. If tomorrow the entire human race decide to commit the entire gross planetary product to build a space ship capable of sustaining 10,000 people indefinitely, It would certainly be possible. Robots and raw materials could be launched into orbit by rail guns. Large Hydroponic farms would be built in space. Geo-domes are already proven to work. All we really need is to do is find a suitable planet. Even if it cost 10 trillion dollars and took 4000 years to get there. Its more about our motivation than our ability.

  17. People are getting sick of sonys bullcrap on 360 vs. PS3 vs. Wii - The Designer's Perspective · · Score: 0

I still can't see any way the ps3 can come out on top on this one. As a designer my self I see nothing but frustration with the ps3 as a development platform. And I believe price point is still an important factor in people's decision when they buy a console. As the lower common denominator out of the two the Xbox has the advantage of art assets being created for it's limitations, and being ported to ps3 for most popular cross platform games. This not only lessens ps3 graphical advantages but gets developers more familiar with the 360 itself. Sony's advantages are with it's exclusive titles, loyal fan base and its marketing, but I see more an more people becoming bitter from Sony jamming half assed stuff down everybody's throats. If Sony does succeed in this generation I think it will only serve to reinforce their hubris, setting them up for a failure next generation.
