If anything the appearance on YouTube increases the appreciation of their programming.
I'm sure it does but that's not the issue. The issue is YouTube is hosting content that is owned by Viacom, content that YouTube did not ask for permission to use not paid for it.
I'm not disputing the numbers. I just think it's strange to pick on Dell when they appear to be doing more for Linux than let's say, Acer or Toshiba and are not too far behind HP.
It seems kind of strange that the article indicates a thumbs up for HP and how well they're doing with Linux and a thumbs down for Dell when their numbers are less but quite comparible.
I think Dell is the one getting picked on here and unfairly compared to their competitors who, in fact, have not pushed Linux as hard as hell has.
Not sure if it's fair to say that Dell is not listening to their customers when, according to your list, they are the 2nd largest Linux vendor in the world.
What about IBM, Sony, and eMachines? I don't seem them on your list so I'm wondering why Dell is being used as an example here, rather than other big name OEMs?
It's not about the truth. It's about blind conviction and the surefootedness of knowing "I'm right".
So if Wikipedia (an encyclopedia, right) isn't a good enough stamp of "truth" for people....you try this.
Here we have the same bullshit rewritten and branded as "the truth" catering to the needs of the illogical and anyone else who is too lazy and incapable of doing their own research and forming their own logical opinion on a subject. Our culture is obsessed with basing our own view points on someone else's opinion where the truth is always subjective.
And I agree.....it is all about "being right" and Google is developing a tool to give the same madmen a means of proving they're right. I'm not going to say this is a complete waste of time on Google's part because I'm sure they are a lot of people out there who will think this is genius.
Where do you go when you simply can't find a place or live in NY or LA let alone afford it?
You go to the burbs, you go to ghettos, and you move out of state to the rust belts where you belong. And the rust belts who currently have a declining population but let me tell you, when there is no more room left in those "desired cities" where do new businesses go? They move out and the people move with them which will start the cluster fuck all over again making your 5 minute commute an hour through your small town.
I don't see why Apple and Microsoft are waisting their time with music only MP3 players when not too far down the road there will be absolutly no need for a Zune or an iPOD. When you can connect to you home desktop with 300 gigs of MP3's wirelessly via your cell phone.....why even bother carrying around an extra device.
I was going to buy a Zune mostly because I'm eager to discover new music so I was looking forward to WiFi meaning that I would be able to access the internet and stream music......but nope. Not going to happen:(
I do agree with this. Apple has accomplished the goal all companies want to achieve.....to make their product the brand name standard just like a Q-TIP or a Pop Tart or a Skilsaw (I have a thing for saws).
I don't think the Zune is going to bomb, but I think Microsoft isn't going to be taking over anytime soon. They're getting into the market WAAAAY to late.

XP is no longer a product that Dell and many other OEMs will install on the desktop for you, but you can still downgrade your license to run XP if you don't want Vista. http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?Fa milyID=4f4b3cfd-7f4e-46cb-8117-8275f7683d3f&Displa yLang=en

The only thing I can say is that this is one of the most depressing days of my life.
:(
I'm speechless.
