I was about the ask the same thing. Two paragraphs about the document, with the rest about Google's history and possible future.
Also, from TFA:
"A person familiar with the matter called the vision statement a "brainstorming document" and said it wasn't presented to senior executives. Some of its ideas are "complete non-starters," this person said. Efforts to reach Mr. Weinberg weren't successful."
Perhaps it's true that only a small minority enjoys killing someone in uncontrolled PVP (although I'm not convinced of that) but I get the distinct impression that the people who do enjoy that activity, usually have playing habits that are more 'hardcore' than the so called carebears (in terms of time spent playing, etc.). While this isn't always the case, in some business models the hardcore group sends a lot more cash to the MMO.
Moreso, one can argue that a lot more than a minority enjoys uncontrolled PVP, but that part of those people is scared away by the possibility of losing, both for losing their ingame items/status, or for tasting the bitter shame of defeat after the same guy killed you three times in a row. While the adrenaline rush you get after killing someone can be very powerful, the frustration after being killed can be too.
Why on earth do people continue to whine about releasing 3 games instead of a single game with 3 campaigns? If they sold it as one game and 2 expansions, nobody'd care. The First SC2 game will contain more missions than the original SC1 game (which included 3 campagins). You're getting just as much game for your buck.
Don't RTFA. While moderately informative, it's filled with cynicism. And while I enjoy a little cynicism now and then, I prefer my news to be objective. Browse the internet (news.google.com has some interesting stuff) instead.
Yeah, you constantly have to be treading the thin line between managing your project and giving your team the freedom they need to properly do their job.
If you micromanage them too much, they'll get annoyed, lose confidence and therefore lose motivation. And motivation is one of the most important things in an employee (up there right next to actual skill). If stray too far away from their tasks however, you might not notice something went wrong before it's too late.
While having good organisational and structural skills as a manager is obviously a plus, the social skills are what matter most, according to me. Managing is a social job, whatever the sector is you're doing it in. Keep your team members happy, and they'll get the impossible done and smile while doing it.
Agreed.
This has the potential to turn into one of those cases where some individuals extrapolate one unlucky event to the whole damned world, claiming is evil because . Too many people look for reasons to justify their irrational beliefs, while they should look for beliefs based on reason(s).
Why isn't it accurate? Your reason that it makes no distinction between fat and muscles, seems a bit invalid, since it is called Body Mass Index, and not Body Fat Index. If anything, the terminology surrounding the BMI isn't correct (Although one could argue that having lots of heavy muscles could be the cause of 'overweight' as well).
The only linked article is behind a login screen, which makes this post pretty useless since I suspect very few of us will bother to register.
This story might be somewhat false.

So yes. Nothing to see here.

Nitpicking, I know, but water can't sublimate, since sublimation is going from a solid to a gas phase without becoming liquid. But we get the idea.

Curious (and ignorant) as I am, I'm wondering what on earth an akustimeportal might be? Strangely enough, Google can't help me out here.
