They do the same thing here in Sweden, they say you'll get 24Mbit broadband (DSL) but the uplink is only 1Mbit. Most people only use the Internet for webbrowsing but more and more use it for VoIP, 1Mbit up is awfully slow when you use services like that.
I currently have a 100/100Mbit Internet connection, but they're offering up to 1Gbit in other parts of my city. They won't really get 1Gbit but certainly somewhere around 400Mbit.
For it to be called broadband I think the bandwidth should have to be symmetric, or at least 2:1.
What exactly is a Non-Mac? Since the Intel switch the macs are PCs, and to run Microsoft software you still need Windows installed.
(OK, you could use something like CrossOver Mac to run win32 applications, but that's buggy at best)
$180 for 120GB hdd is a bit steep, hopefully the Elite hdd signature can be used to replace the original 20GB hdd with a generic 120GB hdd. Now that it's got HDMI all we need is XBMC on it:)

And console developers don't have to throw away all that code they worked on over the past six years...
Both the xbox1 and the xbox360 uses some version of DirectX afaik. So as far as making it easy for developers to reuse old code I'd say Microsoft has an advantage over Sony. From what I understand developers can use pretty much the same code base for Windows games as xbox360 games, that has to be a big advantage.
Free. Easy to use, you do nothing. Minimal performance impact. So the real reason most people aren't doing it? They are stuck with Windows bloatware or are ignorant.
How exactly is it Free? Is it the same kind of Free as the cell phones you get when you subscribe to a cell operator?
irssi is an IRC client which works great with screen and Putty, all three programs are bloat free :)
Yeah the box has the key, not me. Main memory is encrypted IIRC.
Linux already runs on the 360, http://www.free60.org/.
Well for one, the encyption. All traffic between the xbox360 and xbox live is encrypted.
100/10 will be just as bad a few years from now, so yes narrowband sounds good to me.

Most xbox 360 games are on dual layer dvd-roms. I should know, those DVD+R DL discs costs a fortune :)

Nothing like a little torture in an American prison to sober you up!
When did the UK cease to be a part of Europe?
