Not sure how this is modded a troll when it's a simple statement of fact.
Unless of course it's the usual/. hive think and doesn't bash apple.
Just deal with a fact when it's presented
Enables you to save everything off line as a pdf. Personally I don't get the question or see the point. My archive is about 6 Gig, all backed up all searchable.
Anyway the company that makes the software is

Just back up
Google is not the villain... nor the victim. Neither is Apple, or any other of the combatants in the Patent Wars. Unfortunately, patent law doesn't allow someone to stay out of it... which is one of the ways in which it has become Evil.
Probably the most sensible comment I've heard on this whole messy business.
Until there is patent reform - if it ever happens, then people are going to try and protect the patents they hold, especially if they feel it is harmful to their business, whatever that business may be. It doesn't just happen in tech.
Totally sensational headline.
The Injunction was against Apple Inc. and Apple Inc. can appeal and introduce new evidence.
Apple Germany sells iStuff in Germany, not Apple inc. There has been no ruling against Apple Germany.
how about/. deals with some facts instead of troll feeding?
We could just bring them back to earth and relaunch them later. Now all we need is a space craft that can land on earth after a trip into near orbit...
The Mac archive was unopenable on my Mac, so I opened the PC version instead. Just incase others encounter the problem.
I think Stufffit didn't like what the file was called, but I couldn't be bothered to tinker
Dunno, don't have Android. If you require immediate access to those files then it's probably better to carry a memory stick. I carry both. For storage encryption is fine. Modify the image and upload again. Depends what you're using the service for and how you need to access the files. What I do works for me, though it is a bit of a compromise
Except Aliens (Alien 2) changed the genre from the original and made a good film in it's own right, though it is of it's the time.
Thank whoever you thank that there has been no Blade Runner sequel / prequel / remake, or some other some other BS Hollywood cash in on the franchise. Or maybe just thank Riddley Scott.
Go watch Dark Star;)
It's not as simple as it might first appear.
Tactically it's important to know where enemy concentrations are, Strategically it's important to bomb the factories where the tanks are being made.
Germany built approx 50,000 armoured vehicles of all types during the war. For instance around 500 Jagd Panthers were constructed, not of them employed in the east. This intel wasn't necessarily available to commanders in the west - they wouldn't need to know anyway.
A Stug III was as lethal to a Sherman as a Tiger or a Panther or Panzer IV. Stug III's were more plentiful than Tigers or Panthers So force composition becomes an a consideration. A Hertzer was a very capable little vehicle for instance and Stugs had a higher kill ratio than any other AFV of the war.
Another consideration would be that there was nothing on the battle field that could penetrate the armour of a Tiger II (none has ever been recorded) although in theory a Stalin 2 with it's 122mm gun could have.
I think it depends when you registered for gmail. I've always had a gmail address. If they stood before the change was made, then they were still valid I think, either that or they were converted on the fly, and the reverse was probably true. I'm UK too
Safari 5.1.2 here. Renders fine thanks. Now get on topic.

The US isn't exactly rolling in it or did you forget the biggest national the nation ever had
Except the BBC is not a monopoly.
Check this out. It's a license fee. Not levied by government. http://www.bbc.co.uk/bbctrust/about/how_we_govern/charter_and_agreement/ I'd reply further, but I'm watching a movie I don't have to pay a license for and I'm posting when commercials are on!
The BBC Licence fee is wholly separate from the UK tax system. It is used to fund the BBC only and does not enter into the governments coffers
That's right, that's how it works.

Well said. The most thoughtful and balanced comment I've seen on Slashdot in months. Bravo.

It's a distinction made by apple about applications that use a single window interface. It is wholly counter intuitive and doesn't even follow their own HIG. Pretty good (albeit 6 years old) article here if you're interested. It's the only one I could find easily. http://www.betalogue.com/2005/02/25/garageband-2-and-other-iapps-single-window-interface-problems-still-not-solved/
Well done sir!
That's what I opened the PC version with...
My bad, I hear it every day. I should know better

In the UK here, not seen El Reg hacked at all today

Exactly. Anything critical or sensitive should be put in an encrypted Disk Image or similar, whatever cloud service you use.
I could have sworn it said 'Comic Sans' is shameful
