Rubbish.
Even a locked system needs someone to code for it.
Code will still happen, it will just happen 'differently'
OSX is open (ish -BSD) and the SDK's for all development and the languages used are available and open (dev licenses for iphone aren't free I'll grant you) but this story is little more than blog spam
You can't just use text on buttons, it wouldn't work well with translations. Some words are very much longer in other languages. How would a button know if it should shrink or grow to accommodate the required text? Localisation is extremely difficult if you want to retain a usable interface.
There hasn't been any thing said by apple. As soon as they made an announcement that something was going on at the end of January, everyone else start hyping something that no on knows anything about.
On the mac you can hold down the control key or right click to get a contextual menu. Try it, you might like it. Support varies from program to program and you don't always get what you might expect or hope to see. But that's down to the application vendor and not apple
Exactly and a pretty good review of this was posted on Coding Horror a few weeks ago http://www.codinghorror.com/blog/archives/001301.html with links to how it's sometimes implemented in a less than ideal way
Except it was the tories that signed the Maastricht treaty under John Major, which gave up more british sovereignty than anything else. Not saying Labour would have been any better, but it was the tories that gave up a lot of our indepenance
Off topic, and childish
No, Ben Long doesn't like it. Not what you said
See 'Carry on Screaming'
Yes it is cynical. Poverty is good unless you're rich, in which case poverty becomes essential or you can't be rich

You can't run Snow Leopard on a G5. Intel only
I don't doubt for a moment that apple approves leaks.
The point is that apple isn't hyping anything.
Now you're believing the hype about the leaks. The simple fact remains that no one out side of apple know anything definite about any of this
yeah, the apple hype on this is disgusting.

Some analysts believe the Apple-Google battle is likely to get much rougher in the months ahead

Without seat belts you go through the windscreen and probably die
With seat belts, your chest is compressed and you puncture a lung or your heart
A dead body is no burden on health care. A wounded soldier is a burden on his unit.
Sometimes it's better not to survive
