    hmmm.

    Didn't the Wright brothers base their work on Hargraves work (an Australian).

    The light globe was perfected by Edison, not sure
    who invented it.

    Radio & TV ? &deity knows. That one is well argued
    and I still don't know.

    That agrees with what I remember.

    I recall some canadian guy at a seminar explaining that a UI should have no more than 5 options at one time as this was the lowest common denominator (7 +- 2) for recall. He had some really interesting comments ( read abuse ) about the Win interface.

    The protanganist (a programmer) used to take a small chainsaw to meetings, when suits made idiotic remarks, he would start it meaningfully.

    My story is pretty much the same as others here.
    I found school horrific. At 15 I left school and joined the Navy (Australia).
    School was worse than the Navy !

    If someone tried violence as a solution in the navy, unless they had a bloody good reason, they would suffer for it.

    At school ?, getting beat up makes YOU the trouble maker.

    SAP is not currently supporting Linux.Check your facts.

    This is from OSS (SAP Online Support System).

    "Perhaps these preconditions will be realised in the future. Today
    Linux R/3 has the status "Research" for SAP and we apologize for only
    providing you with single "unsupported" components on our sapserv
    machines."

    I believe the official release is scheduled for 2nd or 3rd Qtr 99.

    Another interesting quote from the support note:

    "We are really interested in the extremely fast Linux development and
    some people within SAP are strongly supporting the acceptance of Linux
    as official R/3 platform."

    I agree.

    Also, whilst stupid, some posts are just plain
    fun to read. When your stuck at work, writing yet another "Trial Vender/Customer/etc Account Balance" report for users that are more interested
    in cosmetics than data, some of the cleverer stupid/silly posts can give you your only laugh
    in the day.

    about feeding inconsistant data to surveys
    ,questionairs etc ? The idea was to make the data
    collected on you so incoherent that it was useless. Of course that won't work with what
    M$ is doing, but is fun nonetheless.
