Beyond pixel resolution, the largest thing digital lacks is dynamic range (range between the brightest areas and the darkest). What film still does better than most dSLRs is capture more details in the highlights while preserving detail in the shadows. This is critical to better reproducing what our eyes see. Digital tricks in post to mimic dynamic range (like HDR photography) usually just look awkward and incorrect.
The MPAA has denied knowing the manner in which the information was obtained. They claim they did not know that there was any hacking involved. So the burden of proof would be on the govt. to prove that they willfully and knowingly participated in the illegal gathering of information. I'm sure the MPAA covered their tracks well - this will not be an easy thing for the govt. to go after (assuming that they even wanted to, in the first place).
To all those asking what this will cost... the real cost of working with Flex comes from purchasing licenses for FDS - the Flash Data Services backend. The IDE cost for me (in the few hundreds for Windows) was almost negligible compared to the FDS cost (in the several thousands). OpenLaszlo is a good alternative, but the major piece is lacks is support for messaging. That's what drove me to shell out major bucks for Flex - my requirements just couldn't do without messaging.
Depending on the which songs were in the folder, they might actually be more embarassing than the images. He should ask them to censor out his Spice Girls collection before his Girls Gone Wild.
I'm no Dell fanboy, but I don't understand why you would reject buying the Dell based on this experience. If you want to run Linux on the machine, just do it. No one is stopping you from doing so.
It's not as if you can just waltz over to the next large manufacturer and get a Linux-preloaded system. Reject the machine if the cost or the hardware performance is an issue, not because they didn't give you Ubuntu.
Um, do you realize that T3 completely destroyed the "no fate but what we make it" theme from T2? It took the fundamental idea behind the best movie in the franchise and then said "nah, it's actually the opposite".
Google is going to have some very skewed networks mapped for early users then. A lot of folks were giving away (or selling) invites to people they did not know at all, and did not correspond with again.

So did the assembly line guy who built the thing, but that doesn't mean I'd put him in charge of data center operations.
Just use this new handy-dandy compression algorithm.
Get lunch. I'm not a morning person.

Is that a tinfoil hat he has on? He's a Slashdotter!

I think I was carrying around a Beowulf cluster of these in my pocket the other day.

Now they just need to hope that no one starts a filimentbuster.
