But honestly how many times is one person going to need the cure for HIV?
I'm more curious if this is on of those "ready in 5 years" science articles that means we'll never see the drug.
Hosting an early version Minecraft server was one of the more fun times I've had on the 'net. Though a bit more time consuming than I would have liked the experience was pretty much what you described. I'd reccomend giving it a go if your Kid is in the right age range to get any benefit form it. Going to bed an waking up to find out that "my" world had a new tower of awesome was quite enjoyable.
I would have given you mod points if I had them, instead I'll say I'm in almost exactly that role right now. I'm doing Accounts Receivable and IT support for our accounting package.
The skill threshold is lower and I still get to be the computer "expert". Suprising how well it works.
What's interesting is how this affects other interactions. For a modern example, imagine a World of warcraft player with an active player group of say 40 people. If the brain has a hardwired limit of 150, then that dos not leave much room for "real" social interaction.
Such a person might not be antisocial per-se they just might have hit a stack overflow.
I think the idea is that the transmissions from the devices are the target. I had someone seriously tell me I should take my phone out of my posket when I can so to avoid cancer risk from 8 hour a day exposure of the same body area.
I'm cool with capilisation. "Anonymous" is an adjective so to use it in a sentance the way most news reporters do, you need to make it a proper noun, IE: capitalise it.
Great, since you clearly know why it is so, perhaps you could explain it to us mere mortals that are perfectly happy using only one OS. My opinion matters, my information however is undependable because I didn't provide anything. Wolfing's opinion also matters but hi information is also undependable because he didn't provide any either. If you're going to to state an opinion, you probably want to back it up when queried on it. Very few people should believe a statement that says "This is true because it is".
I'm not really disagreeing with you, but not knowing linux I don't see why this is true. It seems to me that you can't really unwittingly run arbitrary code on windows and that any of the applications/settings that negate this would be just as big a problem on linux.
I think the idea is to Ddos after the fact, to cover your tracks and to tie up the resources that would otherwise be responsible for noticing your breach.
consider the buyer that currently buys a release date game on the undestanding he can polish it off in 2 weeks and resell for 1/2 value. That guy might buy 1/2 as many games without a used games market and since early adopters are a much touted statistic ("X00,000 copies sold in first 2 weeks" etc). Losing resale guy is not a great idea.
OP - American (at a guess) - 2 Party system.
Rupert Murdoch - Australian - defacto 2 Party system
Article - United Kingdom - defacto 2 party system
Everyone involved is 2 party, I fail to see the problem.
My big issue with this thing is that keyboards are seperate from PCs for a very good reason. If I spill cola on my keyboard (we've all done it), I really dont want to have to buy a new PC to replace the damaged A key or even strip down and repair the keyboard. What I want to do is buy a new $25 peripheral.
You've got to wonder though. If it can hook up to a full sized screen, Has a mouse and keyboard and features a full suite of applications that are user installable, Is it a phone? or is it just a very small form factor PC?

Comparing "rare" minerals to the single most abundant substance on (in is probably a better word) earth is a bit specious.
The INTERNET
I dunno, I've seen some pretty nasty looking polymer notes, it's a royal PITA to count any large sum that has been rolled into a, well, a roll.

Good to know that has a name.

So subtract 50 for work, 30 for family and 20 for postman/butcher etc.
110 is not a large number when it comes to social interaction. Losing 40 slots seems pretty limiting.

I'd expect pre-empting any beliggerance from China would be a big motivator. Indonesia are also a growing nation that could become a risk.

on the plus side, you now have a "reputable" article to send doubters to when you use that excuse.

Basically what sony are saying is "[someone] Anonymous did it!". IE: we do not know the name of the person/people that did it.
On the plus side, roadkill would be so much easy to clean up...

of course it did, wouldn't be a good horror story otherwise.
I prefer Inscriptionisationalist.

I think the word you're looking for is hypothesis.
