This is probably due to data compression performed by the modem (such as v.42bis). This occurs after sending through the serial port, but before modulating the signal to send over the phone line.
You're right about the delay if you're only concerned about one speaker. If you have two or more speakers, you'll need more precise control over each speaker's delay.
10000ms delay would also be bad if you are trying to watch and listen to TV with this system.
> But in the end, IMHO, the whole concept is flawed because, while interesting, it only addressed component failure and not disasters such as fires or tornados, etc.
The NonStop machines and many other machines in the same market segment support links to physically distributed systems for precisely that disaster scenario. This can work in one of two basic ways: either each transaction is sent to two+ machines before commit or a copy of the database audit trails are sent as an online mirror to a slave system.
Don't forget the company's view in this. If you became a regular full-time employee (instead of a contractor, perhaps only working when needed), the company would have to pay health benefits, vacation time, retirement, legally mandated benefits, etc. Right now, you are probably a source of extraordinarily cheap, quality labor!
Didn't they suggest this combination when the "terrorists" were going to send chemical and bio WMD to our houses? Maybe they're just re-using useless surplus anti-terror materials.
I had problems using a USB converter on my kinesis classic. The keyboard generally works fine, except for two things: 1) sometimes it forgets that Control is held down and 2) I cannot program macros anymore. Apparently, if you buy the kinesis USB converter (I have a $9 white-box one), the macros do work.
I bought two pieces of ~36"x48" whiteboard panels from Lowes for $9/apiece. They were in with the decorative fake wall paneling. I've heard okay things about the shower wall board, but this is not it.
Not everybody puts angle brackets around their URLs. Least of all, the companies that send URLs with 30-character tracking IDs and GUIDs in their URLs.
>Of course, if I wrote up the cookie-cutter application as "Pringles can provides limitless food supply", it'd probably make the front page.
It would be selected solely because it contains a grammar mistake.

At least he didn't forget Poland.
The digital sender has autocomplete and you can specify short names for common email addresses. There's no reason to enter the whole address.

Not quite 30 drive bays, but big cases with many drive bays do exist: Sun E450.
In other words, Apple is still ahead of its time.

That's easy, just roll it into the department of homeland security. That'll suck the oxygen out of any organization.
Why do they even need video (aside from distracting drivers and causing accidents)?
Ironically, you posted this request as an anonymous coward.
Name yourself so I can avoid you!

Sometimes also called Silicon Valley Forge. It's neither as big nor as famous, but it does house a fairly large collection of tech companies.

I don't believe so.
You realize that this is precisely how they get elected, right?
What happens when the company's outlook server deletes messages >30 days old? Do they get deleted from the local cache, too?

Be careful. Do you know the difference between the words "cost" and "price"?

Not to mention, you can really lock the customers in.
