cout += "Hello, there are" + 7 + " days in a week"; This piece of garbage just shows that you have no idea how the language works. You can't override operators for basic types. The above piece of code doesn't work, and never could be made to work.

LOL, if I show you how it can be made to work, will you publicly announce to all of slashdot that are preposterous little person who never lets his ignorance get in the way of his strong and unwavering opinions? Maybe a simple retraction that you don't know what the fuck you are talking about WRT C++?

Well he did give an example of an iterator, which is not math. And generic programming (yes, with math types and iterator types) would be pain in the ass without operator overloading. I don't see how operator overloading as a concept could bother any professional c++ developer for more than about 1 day. Seriously, it's just not that big of a deal. Sure, it's abuse, but what isn't. What's your story? Did operator overloading molest you as a child?

That you're a jerk no one probably likes to work with? Or is that just your internet personality?

I think most Christians believe in evolution, and also most Christians believe in young- or old- earth creation. . That's the great thing about religious people, they have no problem believing multiple things at once, even believing two contradicting ideas at once. For example, most their lives as if there is no supernatural intervention in their everyday affairs. At the same time, they believe that supernatural entities are controlling every aspect of their lives. To carry off this dichotomy, the theists has to believe in multiple contradictory world views at once. I think perhaps they don't consider the objective world view required for the former, rational behavior to be a belief, but there its is.

You make some good points, however, you give the impression that "dying for your country" is a nobility exclusive to Muslim thought. Our volunteer military is built on the tradition of self sacrifice - the soldier's idea that his potential death can serve the greater good. The Extremist Muslim suicide bomber is just the point-man in a much larger operation in which most people don't die. Just like western military structures. You make a distinction between our cultures that does not exist.

You are right that MAD does not work without identification of the combatant and the potential, selective, and total extermination of the same. A war against "terrorism" is an insufficient identification of enemy combatants. Nation State works after a fasion, as does racial or religious genocide, neither of which:

    • - preserves the lives of innocents
    • - is a commitment the American people are willing to make

Bush has the luxury of not having to answer to congress; His congress seems to be filled with people intent on abdicating their constitutional powers and allowing the Executive any expansion of power it wishes.
