  1. There is overtime and ... on Are Coders Exempt From California's Overtime Laws? · · Score: 4, Interesting

Around here overtime is one thing. That is when you are told specificly to stay longer to work on a specific project. Needs authorization from a manager / project manager in each occasion. That will cause extra money.

But if you are just a little short of time, have been surfing too much etc, then it is not overtime, but extra hours you are expected to give by your own free will. Depending on your salary, you might give 5 minutes, 15 minutes or even 30 minutes per day for free. Above that, and you usually get overtime, or have a job where the contract does not list any weekly number of hours.

manx / xman is actually prior work. Represents a list of links in one windows, and when you press it, it will compile the corresponding man page and display it in the same or another frame.

This is way older than 1988.

In Denmark (Neighbor country and owner of Norway until 18xx) the legal system is quite likely more or less the same.

Here we have city courts, 2 country courts (east + west) and the high court. Any pary can appeal. But it usually requires something special about the case before it can be appealed to the high court. And of course you can always take it to the European Union human rights court (Not in Norway since they are not a member).

Just today in Denmark, the prosecutor appealed a case where 5 workers who supposedly raped a girl at a party was found not guilty in rape.

ANother major difference between Europe and the USA is that in the USA the facts are second to the persons rights. In Europe the truth comes before the individual. So if the police gets some evidence in ways not legal, it is still evidence - But the police will be prosecuted for breaking the law in an independent case. I think this is way better than the US way of releasing guilty people because the evidence was discovered based on something not legal.

Here in Denmark, the unions have set a $10/hour or so minimum wage. And there are enough unemployed that will blocade companies that does not behave. Otherwise the companies will get so much bad PR that nobody buys their goods.

Well, Amazon.com is selling new CDs for $13 a piece. Assuming 100% of this is profit, there is $2 left over on each CD towards the profit on the DVD. So the profit on a DVD must be $40. How can they then sell it for $20 ?
